Mistake on Supplement Submission

okay. so on 1/1 i was in a super hurry and i thought i had read everything about 1000 times.

and i had 6 other schools to turn in...
i accidently sent in a draft of my duke supplement.
it had comments off to the side and different fonts and different colors.
the app and supp wasnt due until 1/2
so i called my rep and left a msg after hrs and explained the situation and asked him to call me back..
since i submitted it early and explained the situation,
do you think duke will be flexible enough to allow me to resend it and
have it as an update?
i , made sure to send the final draft to a few diff. email add just to verify that it was COMPLETED BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
this was very carelesss of me ... and i feel really dumb.
i should have been more careful..
if i explain this to my rep, do you think he'll understand and allow for me to send the final essay that was completed before the submission time?

please help :)
thank you
ps- im applying for arts & sci .

Deadline pushed back to January 4, corrections possible
I just got off the phone with the admissions office because the CommonApp I submitted wasn't the one that I wanted them to see (it was tailored for another school). I called them asking if I could resubmit, and the lady told me that as long as I mailed in the application by January 4 with a cover letter with identifying information and a request to disregard the other application I would be fine.

I asked why January 4? She said the deadline had been pushed back because they were a bit overwhelmed with the number of applicants. call them yourselves if you want, i'm still mailing this today but I thought I'd let you guys know.
