MISTAKE ON UCSD APPLICATION

Hello everyone,
Yesterday while glancing at my uc application and transcripts I noticed an error on my UC application. I recorded that I failed a statistics course but I actually failed a calculus course which I later retook and got a B in. The two courses are very similar in name “MATH 10” and “MATH 1A” and the grade I received was correct. I did not try to mislead the campus because I wrote about struggling with calculus in my personal insight essay. WHAT TO I DO. UCSD has already accepted me and I’m freakingout!!! it was an honest mistake

Someone please help me with some guidance:( how strict are they about errors like this? Has this happened to anyone? Everyone please pray for me if I don’t get to go to college I’ll be stuck in my home town where nobody is gay like me and everyone is close minded. UCSD was the chance of a LIFETIME and I’m so worried that this will affect me.

When you examine my transcripts, correcting my mistake gives me a higher GPA then the one I applied for because I retook MATH 1A later.

You call admissions up on Monday, tell them you made a mistake and find out if they have received your final transcripts to verify the mistake has been noted. Then find out what you need to do to maintain your provisional admission if anything.

The admissions office is closed on weekends but I have emailed them. Thank you for your response. In your opinion how bad is this mistake? I wrote about struggling in calculus in my personal statement so I was in no way trying to hide this :frowning:

Since it just a mistake on which class you failed vs not submitting the failing grade in the first place, I think you should be ok especially if they have your final transcript to show the discrepancy. Again, it is up to the discretion of admissions and mistakes do happen.

Best of luck and update when you get an answer.

Okay yeah I completely understand, the mistake is my fault and I need to just take ownership of it and communicate with UCSD.

Do you think this could void my admittance?

The decision will be up to admissions. No one other than admissions can tell you otherwise. I personally do not think it will result in your admission being rescinded but I do not work in admissions.

UPDATE: I called admissions this morning. The woman on the phone was pretty nice and fair but was a tad ambiguous if the result of my mistake. Basically the mistake has been noted but I have to wait and see if they validate my admittance through checking my portal. For everyone reading learn from my mistake and always have a second eye review your application! I did the entire transfer process on my own and evidently, sometimes you can’t catch your own mistakes.

@Stevenrowland25, fingers crossed for you!!! I would say that I think you will be fine, but I am not qualified to voice any sort of opinion on this topic. Best of luck!

@pickledginger thank you for your kind words and best wishes! I hope so too.

Just got an email saying it did not affect my admission status

Great news!!
