I mistyped the number of volunteer hours (I don’t know exactly how many I have) with a certain organization on my Common App. I applied to three schools early (SCU, Scripps, and UMich) and have already contacted SCU and Scripps about this error, and gave them a rough estimate of my actual hours. I already fixed that info on my CA so that the data for RD schools will be roughly correct. However, I can’t seem to find an email to contact UMich undergrad admissions. What should I do? My school has no records of my volunteer hours (they don’t keep track of this stuff), so I don’t know how they’ll verify it, but I contacted the other two schools to play it safe. Should I just pretend that nothing is going on since there is no way to verify it, or call the center when lines are open again?
How big a difference are we talking about? The difference between say 200 hours and 2,000 hrs is significant and probably worth an email to admissions to make the correction. The difference between 100 hrs and 200 hrs is so minor that it’s not worth correcting. It isn’t going to impact your admissions one way or another. In the latter case, I’d just forget about it.
@N’s Mom It was a difference of 25ish hours v. 80 hours…
I’d just forget about it.
Yup, forget about it.
Alright, thanks guys!
