Mistake

I already applied to Tulane using their regular online application. I had already received the personal app thingy in the mail, but forgot to use it to apply. Is there anyway I can link the two applications so Tulane will know that I was given the personal app, or am I out of luck.

Thanks

It doesn’t really matter. Especially if you applied EA. The fact that you applied so early means you will get quick attention, if they have everything else they need.

Thanks, I did apply early action. They have everything but are just waiting for my transcript and guidance recommendation (the administration at my schools works at a snails pace).

I really don’t think it matters. I applied SCEA online and, once all my paperwork was in, received a reponse quickly.

It does not matter-- in fact what you don’t what to have happen is what happened to my s. (though it all worked out fine, after a few phonecalls). He started his application on the priority application, and sent in the first part. He then decided just to use the common app (which they used then, before the universal app) since he was filling it out for several schools and decided it would be more efficient. So he sent in the complete common app. Problem was (apparently) that they had started a folder on him with the first 1/2 of the priority app so essentially had two incomplete files (the first file had his transcript, SATs etc). It took several calls, after they kept telling him that the materials probably hadn’t made it from downstairs to upstairs, for someone to actually LOOK and see that they had 2 files open on him. They combined the files, he got confirmation that his application was complete, and heard in 3 days.

Don’t think it matters what application you use. Just apply!! Good luck!

gabby: speaking of scea, I have been wondering if Tulane has released any stats about admission rates for scea applicants, esp. since this was the first year. Were they higher than regular EA and Regular applicants?

they haven’t released any hard statistics yet. The SCEA rate of admission was slightly higher than EA.
