Mistakes with 2020 AP scores

I am so frustrated! My daughter got all As in the AP classes, knew the content and as at the top of her class. Received way lower scores on the AP exams. The teachers even agree that the scores were to low after reading her response. Website is unclear about how to submit an appeal. It only talks about multiple choice questions of which there were none.

You can’t get a regrade unless your score was below a 3

Here is the link from the CB:
https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/pdf/ap-testing-guide-2020.pdf

See page 10. The process in past years is not applicable this year.

For this year., the process is: if the score was a 1 or a 2, the teacher (who has a copy of the responses) can ask for a regrade if s/he believes the answers warranted a higher score. The student cannot petition directly to the CB for a regrade. If the score was 3+, the CB will not regrade.

I have the same issue… my son got a 99 in AP Psych and a 5 on practice test. He was extremely confident in his answers and was given a 2. His school is now closed and will not be reopening in the fall. How in the world do we request for a rescore? He has all his responses. In the very least we should be able to see why he scored a 2.

I’m sure people are available by email.

The CB will not tell you. The best you will get is the opinion of the teacher.

“A student received a score of a 2 because an experienced scorer/scorers, who review dozens or hundreds of responses to the same question(s), reviewed the response, compared it to the scoring rubric that is consistently applied to each of the thousands of tests, and determined the response(s) best met the criteria aligned with a score of 2”

That’s about all you’ll get from College Board.

You can, however, see the rubric for grading for each subject online.

Your student’s school may not be opening for in-person attendance, but the staffs are still working. email your student’s GC / advisor.
