MIT 2014 RD Discussion Thread

I’m pretty sure people can still send in stuff, but it’d probably have a marginal impact unless it’s IMO.

Now everything’s done, just wait…

Btw, I think the results will be released in late-March

I hate to wait soooo long.
I want to hear the decisions immediately even if I am rejected, so I will be done with this. Of course I want to get accepted, but If I not get accepted - which likely will happen - I want to plan a study in the country I live in.

^blackhair
You don’t apply to any other school?

ughh… -.- i hate waiting…
and i am really hoping they are released on pi day.
because thats would just be really awesome
but still…thats SO far away…

Well it seems like they accepted my update that I sent yesterday as they replied back telling me they had added it to my application for review. Surprising but good though I probably shouldn’t push my luck for my other two competitions this week hahaha

To those who didn’t have anything extra to talk about in their Midyear Report - what did you write? (The “prompt” asked for an inspirational quote or a joke, if I remember correctly.) I submitted a corny, elaborate pun.

I wrote a boring update about some olympiad ranks and note about my marks in view of the school’s harsh marking system.

i wrote about my status for national merit and my favorite quote (“God gives talent. Work transforms talent into genius” - Anna Pavlova)

I wrote 10 fun facts

I wrote about my trip around my country, my online German course I’m taking, and some leadership stuffs. Ah, and a funny German quote haha

AAA- Mind sharing them? :P

Hey guys, if you’re applying for FinAid, can you tell me what the Family Trust Documentation is?

Is this an American thing?

It’s a large sum of money managed by someone on behalf of a family or other individual.

Not sure; do you have assets in a trust? They may want a copy of those documents.

Does anyone know what happens if you don’t get all of your financial aid information in on time? I got my CSS and FAFSA in on time, but my mom forgot to send off the IDOC information until today. I’m just worried that I won’t hear about admission on time.

[MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: “Deadline-ish”](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/finaid/financial_aid/deadlineish.shtml)

They might not get a financial aid offer to you by May, but you will still receive the same amount of financial aid. You can use the calculator on their financial aid website for (what they say) is a fairly accurate estimate of what you’ll receive.

The financial aid deadline is only to ensure that they can give you your financial aid decision prior to the May deadline to accept or reject admission. It is not a deadline for actually receiving financial aid.

You’ve seriously gotta love MIT for the FA :D

Thanks cgarcia!!

You’re welcome. I haven’t been able to send in my IDOC either.
