We’ll see if MIT likes me!

Another from the international pool. From Melbourne, Australia.

Course 6 as well! Primarily interested in AI.

Good luck to everyone!

Me too. Yeah best of luck!

On his ACT, son got a 36 in science, 35 in math & reading, but only a 31 in english for a composite of 34. I know 34 is a decent score, but he is thinking about retaking in Sept and is worried that he will lose points with admissions if per chance he raises his english, but the other subjects drop. Thoughts?

MIT superscores the ACT – they’ll only look at the highest scores in each section.

From the admissions website, [here](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/standardized_test_requirements/index.shtml):

So as far as MIT’s concerned, if he gets a 36 in English but draws a smiley face in the Scantron for the other subjects, that would be okay. :)

:p^^^^:p Thanks for the reply!

Korean international here… Scared crapless. sigh

No awards or anything (never really got the opportunity) so chances have dwindled. But I feel like I’m a good match for MIT :D

Hi5 Korean international!

OMG, MIT is racist against Asians. We should report this!!!^^

Luckily I’m not a Korean. From South-East Asian myself. Totally sad that I could not apply for EA and the only thought that refrained me from applying ED at other colleges is that I might get MIT (no matter how small the chance). Flunked my SAT1 with only 2120, but luckily as international student I get to use my TOEFL iBT results (112). Going to retake SAT2 as I am not too pleased with Maths2 (770) and maybe Chemistry (790). I got 800 for Physics. I certainly did not represent my country in any Science Olympiad but I received a merit for my country’s National Chemistry Quiz. Would that be considered? Had only two co-curriculum to state about, which is Bronze medal in World Robotic Olympiad and State representative for badminton ( don’t think that this is going to be in favor of me as badminton doesn’t seems like a hot sport in US!) I’m just gonna apply to MIT even though I only have 1% of chance. The worst agony is not defeat, but its the feeling you get when you didn’t try even while others succeeded.

@tutydau lol
Definitely going to apply MIT gl to all

Lol why have I never noticed this thread? I am a fail =.=

MIT EA ftw! :)

I’m going to apply EA.

EA! Aw, everyone seems to be applying early… ruining my chances… :(

I got my EC name, phone number, and email address today on MyMIT, and the app seems to be live!

Yep, same here. Anyone else started their mini-essays? I got a great idea for the free time one, hahaha

the app’s finally out? Damn, no more excuse to procrastinate…

@tmanneopen, I do, too! Sadly, it isn’t anything very impressive though… :

Hahaha, mine isn’t impressive at all. Mine is just about singing, even though I can’t sing well. It’s ok though, as long as you love to do it, it’s worth writing about.

That’s pretty impressive! Tells 'em that you’ve got an appreciation for music… and that you’re not tune deaf…? (:
Mine’s probably going to be about DotA haha although I may change it later since it seems like kind of an inappropriate topic…

tmanneopen, that’s exactly what my answer to that question was about last year… and i got in EA. go for it!
