<p><em>sigh</em> just got rejected from Caltech
I REALLY hope I get into MIT now</p>

The higgs boson was predicted at least 30 years ago, and now they either found it or found that our entire understanding of the universe is wrong, to be announced on Tuesday. It is definitely in MIT’s character to release decisions at the same time as something like that.</p>
<p>Wow, I hope that’s the case.</p>
<p>On “Flourish and Blogs,” Chris announced that on Monday they’ll announce the day that they’ll announce results.
For the last two years it’s been on the 16th and 17th (Wed. and Fri., respectively). I feel liek the 16th (Fri.) would make a lot of sense this year.</p>
<p>Anybody else already filled in most of the results post template in anticipation? I have mine saved in notepad, awaiting the word to make final changes. Haha.</p>
<p>Yep. I sent it to myself in PM with noparse tags, so that I can copy/paste it.
I figured I won’t be very likely to write it up if I get rejected, so I’d rather do it now.</p>
<p>@Dogod i don’t think so haha…Chris said that it was extremely unlikely results were coming out before the 15th. They will probably come out around the 17th</p>

<p>Just got rejected from Penn, really hoping for even a deferral from MIT now…</p>
<p>Got into Caltech…but that just ups the pressure to get into MIT it makes me want to get in more!</p>

<p>Congrats to both of you on Caltech…everyone I know got rejected. My parents wouldn’t let me apply anywhere in California because they said it was too far away 
MIT is my only shot at a tech school, although I’d be happy doing engineering anywhere.</p>
<p>S2 got into Caltech which was a huge relief. Very little motivation to finish any more apps. I think he can handle whatever happens with MIT now, although I think it’s still his first choice and we will be nervously awaiting the results with the rest of you.</p>
<p>@apchemistry Haha same my mom REALLY doesn’t want me to go to caltech because it’s way too far away. If it came down to georgia tech and caltech for me, I would probably go to georgia tech because it’s so close and I have a good chance for the presidential scholarship. anyone else waiting on gtech presidential on the 19th along with MIT?</p>
<p>@catchmoresun (nice username) Yep! GA Tech decisions for the second EA round (the one I applied in) come on Friday, and then the scholarship announcements come three days later. So much going on at once! I hope I get in, because Tech is my (kindof) safety if I don’t get into MIT… Lol. But I don’t know of any of my friends who applied there and didn’t get in, so I’m not as worried about GT. It’s in-state for me, though, which is nice…</p>
<p>So I am applying to MIT. I go to the International Academy ( Top 10 highschool in the nation)
I have taken 6 IBs. I have a GPA of 3.91 and a ACT of 34 and a SAT of 2370 . MY SAT II are 770 and 800 ( chem. And math ii)
I play varsity tennis and participate in the Destination Imagination . I have over 800 volunteer hours and have hosted a music show for charity and raised over a 1000 dollars. I have been part of the debate and mayors youth council as well being a student teacher at religious organization . I live in Michigan and I have applied as an early applicant .
