^DITTO. I just applied a few minutes ago, and it’s such a relief. My last essay wasn’t too great, but it feels wonderful to finally have it out of my hands.

My fate will be sealed by within six weeks. (Unless I get deferred, of course, which is what I’m fully expecting.)

SubMITted!

I didn’t feel anything at all until I submitted, and then I was nervous for a bit. Maybe I’m just weird.

I just submitted! It’s a weird feeling, but it feels pretty good…for now, before the terror sets in.

I didn’t want to look at my application after I submitted it in case I messed up somewhere, so I tore up the draft of my application and folded it into origami.

Yeah, I checked the draft like five+ times, and now I refuse to ever look it again in case I made a mistake. Same with the essays - too late to change anything now, haha.

That whole tracking thing sorta makes me feel like this: [xkcd: Online Package Tracking](xkcd: Online Package Tracking)

The fact that I can view my essays doesn’t help :(

@browndbaternerd That XKCD comic is perfect! Haha. Nice.
I submitted my application last week about at about 10:30pm on the deadline day. It’s out of my control now, but I keep waiting for my recs and test scores to show up on the tracking page. (I took the Nov. SAT so that will still take a couple weeks to show up anyway…) The only other school I applied to EA was GA Tech… As for my interview, it went surprisingly well! It was actually pretty fun - I had about a 2.5 hour conversation with my EC in a Starbucks. He studied in the same field I want to go into, so we had a lot to talk about. The teachers who wrote my recs both like me and have written recs for MIT admits before, and one of them knows me very well. I’m confident in those and my ECs, but my essays were probably average and I think my GPA and SATII scores are a bit below average… we’ll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone!

So I’m applying RA…was just wondering when is the best time I should contact my EC…?
I mean, my EC is this kick-ass awesome popular architect && I freak out at the idea of sitting down with him…I don’t wanna wait 4 the last moment 2 contact him, tho
Well did any of u guys applying RA have Yr interviews yet?? Any stories?

If you have your EC, go ahead and contact them now :)

There’s definitely no danger of being “too early.”

One of my friends actually had her interview for regular admission well before some of my early action friends had theirs.

heyy guys whis is this forum a dead meat for three days ?? … i mean its 11 / 11 / 11 … lets stir something up … or was this only for the EA applicants ??

I’m RA…
&& yaaay!!
11.11.11
Big deal…

our decisions should be out in a month or so.

My interview is in two days…besides “being myself”, any serious advice??

Just make sure you know why you want to go to MIT and why you should be there. I fumbled over my words during my interview when he asked why I should be admitted. It never occured to me to come up with an exact reason.

Hi everyone! I’m a MIT hopeful from West Coast! Applying this fall and hopefully playing soccer next year!

My interview was not great…really awkward and not well-rehearsed at all. And every time I mentioned an extracurricular activity I do, he asked, “do you do anything else besides that?” As if I should be doing like 50 things. He was a nice guy and all, and the interview lasted like an hour, but I was uncomfortable and my parents made me wear an ugly suit…

Hahahah, that’s unfortunate. My interview went absolutely amazing! The guy who was interviewing me was really really friendly and we hit it off well. He was kind of the grand-fatherly time (in his 50s) and a professor at my state’s university. I asked him more questions about MIT than he asked questions about me. I’m a little worried though… it’s been like two weeks and he still hasn’t submitted his interview form thing…
