MIT 2016 hopefuls

^ I badly hope my interview goes as good :)

I still don’t know how to judge my interview. In hindsight, there are so many things I could have done better, but he seemed interested in what I had to say so I really don’t know.

Howdy, y’all
I had my interview this afternoon, && just like my friend up there, I really couldn’t judge how it went & I, too, think it could’ve been better :frowning:
Unlike what I expected, tho, the guy didn’t seem all extra-ordinarily genius, he was just pretty hardcore, he obviously liked his job & he obviously could spend endless hours doing it…that is prolly the one way he is different from any other old man out there :D

You should fill out a “completed interview” form (IIRC it’s just your interviewer and the date of the interview). For my interview, the exact same thing happened. I filled out that form and the system found it immediately, meaning there was probably a misspelling in my name or something like that in my EC’s report. It could be the same for you.
To find it, go to myMIT, then go to “details” (right-aligned and next to “Application Tracking”) and the link to fill it out is in the comments section of “interview”.

^ Yeah, mine was like that. I think he spelled my name with an “i”(Kevyn). Am I the only person who constantly checks MyMIT even though the application is complete? It’s like I think that it’s going to magically say “You’re so awesome, we’re going to let you in early” :P

@Whateverhappens: OMG!!
My interviewer also misspelled my name…he was writing “Huda” with an “o” instead of “u”… :smiley:
&& hey, Yr not alone, 4 even though my application is incomplete, I constantly keep on checking my account for no apparent reason, other than making sure my baby is alright (there is always a freakier kid out there)
Lmao :D

My interview went extremely well! I had it at a local Starbucks and the most out there interview question was “What is your favorite superhero?” Plus one good thing my interviewer did was explain the significance of what he learned about my personality through my answers as I went. Extremely encouraging! My interview lasted 1.5 hours. And we both shared extremely unique, humorous experiences. Even gave me a comment that I did extremely well towards the end! Overall, great experience! For those who have not completed an interview, do not worry! All of the MIT Alumni I have met have been extremely enthusiastic and encouraging! Good luck!

@bio1995:

How many MIT alumni have you met? O_o

~18 days left!

@CPU Don’t remind me! I’m already freaking out about it. Sometimes I feel like I have just as much chance as anyone and then other times I feel like I should just pick from my other schools because it’s very very very unlikely I’ll be admitted. This is nerve racking.

Side note Is it “racking” or “wracking”? English isn’t my thing lol.

@CPU is there a set date for when MIT decisions are going to be released?

December 10th-15th for Early Action and Pi day (3/14) for Regular Decision are pretty standard for MIT

I was just reading that “Consolidated EA/RD 2015 results thread” above. I remember looking at it before - man, that is gruesome.

But, good luck to all of us (well, not me - but my kid and you folks)!

I can’t believe that no one’s posted in two days! People are freaking out over “inferior” schools like Harvard and Stanford 24/7, but we’re not? Tsk tsk lol.

I gave up looking at the results threads until after decisions come out, I was freaking myself out far too much. Besides, I think the essays count for a lot along with what you have done in context with your life and those things are hard to convey on those threads…at least that’s what I’m going to tell myself for the next two weeks :P

cortana431 (just seeing your post).
going off of previous years, i’m betting thursday, december 15. so, 14 (almost 13) days left. wow.

they release decisions around 9PM EST. I hope I have homework that night to keep me busy (but I hope I finish it before then because I will be too distracted after I check!)

I really hope it’s the 15th, not the 14th. I have a project in AP Lit due on the 15th, and I’ve been too busy with college apps to worry much about it. I’m going to be working on it the night of the 14th.

My last final is on the 15th so hearing about it right after that would be best as it can’t/won’t distract me from schoolwork.

As long as it isn’t on my birthday, the 19th, I am happy lol

Gah I want to know when my decision is coming out! I mean, its ok if its late, I just want want to know so I can get myself in the right frame of mind. my best friend applied ED to Northwestern and they get their decisions the 9th…i hope the MIT people tell us soon when we can expect to learn our fates.
