Why do I think I got in?
App was the stronger from my school, my SAT scores are very good (comparing to Puerto Rican applicants), I also took the PEAU test which is the College Board test for admission to PR colleges and got one of the top 100 scores for the whole 2004-2005 year.
I also advanced a whole year of high school, my recommendations letters and essays were awesome, also the interview went great.

What else? Well, many competitions and extracurriculars helped, and also my class schedule which has about 10 classes per semester in a very competitive high school at Puerto Rico (residential High School)

who's coming for CPW? It;s going to be loads of fun!! :)

Ugggh... I wish I could come. Parents won't let me take two trips down to the US. :(

Yeah, my parents don't want me to go...their stance is that I've already visited and I'm pretty familiar w/Boston and Cambridge already. Sounds fun though.

Hi, I'm an international applicant. I don't understand the GPA stats provided on this page. 3.83 out of what, 5? But then there is a person with a 5.3? It can't be 3.83/6 right? Could somebody please explain the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA? Thank you very much for your help. Jass

As far as I know, most American unweighted GPAs are out of 4.0, with A=4, B=3, etc. So a 3.83 isn't too bad.

Systems for weighted grades vary widely, but most involve adding extra quality points for taking honors, AP, IB, and other classes. For example, at my school an A in an AP course is worth 5.0 and an A in honors is 4.5 for the purposes of weighted GPA calculations. I've got unweighted 4.0, weighted 4.578.

Now I see! Thank you, hamster :)

I think I'll be going to CPW too. I know it's going to be amazing!
