MIT Admission

how about entering MIT by hoodwinking the admission committee choosing a funny major and then once entered opting for the best ones on the campus??
:P

MIT doesn’t admit by major. Whether or not you choose a popular (or unpopular) major won’t affect your chances of getting in, and won’t restrict your choices once you’re at MIT.

To the OP: the director of admissions, Stu Schmill, once wrote a blog post on this very phenomena, only he extended it to doing weird EC’s. So he is aware of the practice and it won’t work.

This is exactly why I don’t think we should admit in a way to achieve EC diversity. People will do one thing to get admitted and then quit.
