I'll write the essay prompts here since MyMIT is slow:

We know you lead a busy life, full of activities, many of which are required of you. Tell us about something you do for the pleasure of it.

Although you may not yet know what you want to major in, which department or program at MIT appeals to you and why?

What attribute of your personality are you most proud of, and how has it impacted your life so far? This could be your creativity, effective leadership, sense of humor, integrity, or anything else youd like to tell us about.

Describe the world you come from; for example, your family, clubs, school, community, city, or town. How has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations?

Tell us about the most significant challenge youve faced or something important that didnt go according to plan. How did you manage the situation?

BTW, doesn't the 4th prompt seem almost identical to the UC Personal Statement prompt?

@Ghastn: I’m pretty sure that they’re 250 words maximum. I would avoid looking at any sample essays, to keep from influencing your own writing–to make sure that your essays and the personality they show to admissions are truly your own.

@MITChris I have submitted the part 1 of my MIT application [(^.^)/], but I noticed that the spelling of environmental engineering and science (in the ‘choice of major’ box) is wrong. I don’t mean to be a pedant, but, it’s just that EES is spelt wrong in my application as well, and I’m not sure if I should worry or not!
