I dont want to disparage MIT's academics in any way, but as I have been surfing the web in the past few days I have decided that MIT has the ugliest looking campus in New England, does anyone else agree. (FYI: I did mean to post on the Cornell discussion page)

i disagree...

Why is it relevant?

Havent personally seen the campus, but from watching Differential Equations video lectures on OCW the classroom blackboard is pretty sick) Hope they have the same ones at Cornell

I'm not sure why you feel this should be posted on the Cornell board (or at all). At least have the guts to post on MIT's forum.

From what I've seen (in pictures) and heard, it's probably not the most aesthetic of places. But, a school can't have it all, right?

Sorry, but I actually like the campus. It may not be for everyone, but some of the architecture is pretty cool. And there is really no need to put down a school, especially on another school's thread...

lol. silly, MIT actually stands for Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Blind. What good is a beautiful campus to its students?

It has a different kind of beauty than Cornell. I agree with Californiakid, Norcalguy and the other posters - there is no need to slam other schools on the Cornell boards. It's pointless and classless.

I loved MIT's campus. Actually I liked everything about MIT: the people, the courses, UROP, and just the whole culture of the school. MIT was my #1 and I was devestated when I was defered EA. I'm thinking of trying to transfer next year.

OK that was a huge tangent, MIT's campus was really nice when I visited in Frebruary. The Infinite, Killian Court, the famous Dome, the Green Building is pretty cool, and so was the Stata Center.

Boston is a great city and it's got lots of heart...so if you dont like MIT's campus...just look around elsewhere and I'm sure you'll love everything else there. I personally like the natural beauty of Cornell, but MIT has a different kind of beauty

i think people took my commment in a way too negative fashion. To improve my position, my best friend goes to MIT, so there. Now, to explain myself, I like natural beauty better and gothic architecuture, I do not like modern architecture. In my opinion Cornell should adopt a more cambridge, oxford look, I hate it when colleges mix in architecture styles.

hmm
nice strategy
diss an outside school on a school's forum, then, when you get a negative response, diss the school itself

a man of tact, eh?

oh come on, i just wanted to explain my position. Put an end to this thread, it began with some late night musings. Don't tar and feather me alright!

EEK!
