Hello,

I want to attend the Brain and Cognitive Sciences department at MIT. There is no other place/faculty/projects I have come across that I want to work with more! However, I know that MIT isn't exactly the kind of school you just apply to knowing you'll get in. I need to start looking at other programs to apply to as well since I probably wont get in :l I'm having trouble finding some though. Some schools have a cognitive science program (through psych) some a neurology program, some a computational cognitive program (very small, usually one group in a larger school of psychology). Are there any other MAJOR programs at MAJOR universities that are VERY close to BCS at MIT?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Berkeley’s Vision Science? Maybe?

I think thats one specific facet of AI and computer vision. Im looknig for a more cognitive approach + machine learning. Similar to this:

you may want to try HCI (human-computer-interaction/interface) Schools that DS attended had this course as only as upper level/second major/master’s level.

Note: This is for graduate studies!

it is a pretty broad subject field. Many schools call it by different names, some have institutes that encompasses the research. You may want to specify research areas in your search.

CMU, Toronto, Stanford, GT, UCB, Washington, WashingtonSL.

try http://www.acm.org

You could also look at the IST Graduate program at Penn State. I’m not sure if it has as much a Neuroscience focus though it does have Cog Sci, HCI and AI.
