I'm considering Electrical Engineering or Physics but I really want to go to MIT. I know my test scores aren't amazing so Im retaking them. Any comments and thoughts about MIT are much appreciated, thanks again.

MIT really focuses on math and science, so if you show great scores in those two areas, I think you have a decent chance.

Just remember that all stellar students apply to HYPS, MIT, CalTech, Columbia, and Berkeley and keep your options open :)

great stats..
but you probably won't stand out amongst all the other caucasian guys applying for engineering to mit....
: / ....but you never know!
the process is totally random... -__-;;

Anyone else, please

Concentrate on getting those scores up, then write stellar essays. Anything could happen.

Why in the world do so many people want to go to MIT??? If your heart is honestly set on going to MIT, apply ED, but you most definitly have to retake the SAT, and write an excellent essay...

MIT is EA (and not single-choice) so it doesn't necessarily make a huge difference.

You need to raise your math scores.

Estimates of scores are really useless. Things change during test day. Nerves man, nerves.

do some research or write a paper before summer ends, and your chances will get a boost

I wish my school had a Ping-Pong club...

:)

For an MIT applicant you don't seem to have very impressive science/math EC's and awards. This would probably hurt you more than anything else. Your chances would probably increase 6 fold if you were able to do a reseach project this month and get semifinalist in siemens.
