MIT - Chance me maybe ?

So, the results come out day after tomorrow and I’m nervous about my result. I’m just upset that I didn’t do well in my standardized tests. I’m an international student and my highschool isn’t great at all. India is a very corrupt place where institutions offering IB and IGCSE curriculum are just opening schools for the money and not the education. Anyway, I didn’t do well on the ACT: just got a 28 and my subjects tests was bad ( 660 math 2 and 650 physics :(i had typhoid that time and didn’t have more money to spend on anymore tests). However, I have done lots of research from a university here in india and have even applied for 3 patents (which hopefully i’ll receive.) I’m the technology councelor in my school, i’m part of the academic research unit in our school, and also part of the editorial board. I am founder of 3 clubs ( electronics, science and robotics ). I have a general understanding of fundamental electronics from local workshops i’ve attended and also have been part of around 5 projects (which i made in the university). I have an original business idea for my future and have tried to work hard ever since. I don’t come from a well to do family but my father has made just enough for me to not apply for financial aid. Due to the low income, I couldn’t go for many competitions but have tried to go for as many as possible. My grades in school are decent (due to personal problems) so i’m really scared of my decision. I have been making projects even at home and one of my projects nearly saved my grandparents lives. I love challenging myself and have dreamed about MIT ever since 9th grade. Is there even a minute chance of getting through ?

Unfortunately, your ACT and subject test scores don’t look good - admissions is quite competitive internationally, especially in countries such as India and China, and ideally I would’ve retaken all of those tests, or tested earlier. But keep in mind that none of us can really give you an accurate “chance” per se, and the best solution is to simply wait out the 33 hours and hope for the best…

yeah ok !!

@ComMITment, and anyone that this is relevant to, if you have low income you should definitely apply for financial aid. MIT is need blind, even for international students. That’s why they accept so few internationals.
