I hold a part time job as an entertainer (I play keyboard and sing) at a local restaurant, and I have written songs for such events as Relay for Life. I have also hosted several Christmas concerts at my local elementary schools and senior citizen centers. This July, I will begin performing down at the clubs in the Destin, Florida area with my band, playing 80s/90s dance music.

I am also very active in my school's Engineering/IT program, and I led my class in programming a robot for a robotics competition on Eglin Air Force Base. I am also taking part in a mechanical engineering internship at a local engineering firm.

I was also accepted by the QuestBridge scholarship competition to attend a conference at Yale University, but I could not attend. :(

** I WILL BE APPLYING EARLY ACTION **
** I WILL SCHEDULE AN IN-PERSON INTERVIEW WITH AN MIT EC **

I also have over 320 hours of community service.

My school dropped AP Physics. :(

I think that you’ll get in. Just gotta go for it and see.

Many great, amazing, awesome people get rejected from MIT simply because there isn’t room. I think the most any applicant should get in “chancing” is a “you have a shot”.

Good academics, although you might want to retake ACT to get that 28 up >.< However, your ECs look rather weak to me. You have school level awards only, and overall nothing to set you apart from the pack.

at PiperXP: I wouldn’t say that. All of the top mathletes in our state pretty much know each other, and a decent number of us have stuff like MOP and RSI under our belt :D

And RSI people - who many people seem to think are guaranteed admission - are rejected too. I’m not sure what admissions has to do with all you guys knowing each other.
