Hey!

I am an international Student and i really want to get into MIT for my graduate studies (MS is not my terminal Degree), could someone help me out with the criteria of selection! I have a paper published and one more in process (under review). Does this help ?

Thanks

PS:My gre isnt that stellar but GPA is around 3.7-3.8.

Where did you do your undergraduate studies. What was your major? I know people with low GPA but one publication and went to MIT.

I am from a small school (NIT Surat) in India, not famous world wide but famous in India.

And my major is Chemical Engineering (B.Tech)

Not that great of chance. I graduated with a 3.8 from a top 15 school in che and got rejected from Stanford, Berkeley, and MIT. I had 3 publications, from 3 research experiences (1 at NASA and 2 at school). I had two internships with BP over the summer, and I would assume pretty good recs. GRE was 800 Q and 540 V with 5 AW.

From what I hear you have to have well over a 3.9 or at least that to have a decent chance (as I know people from schools with over a 3.9 that have gotten rejected).

Ohk!! I have had this issue before but for the GPA is usually graded for 10. i have a grade of 8.63 and my class topper has 9.34/10. if calculated with the topper being 9.34=4, i have 3.7 and i am 3rd in class!!..
But anyways thanks for your opinion!
