Did anyone hear from MIT chemical engineering for their PhD program? I've heard from the bioengineering on the 23rd and I've been sitting on nails for many days now waiting to hear something from the chemical engineering :(

I applied to both programs, would the decision be considered independently or is it either one program or the other?

I just want to know so I can move on and arrange my traveling plans!

w.r.t. application to ChemE at MIT:
a friend doing ph.D there told me that they have made the final decisions and sending out emails now
to the selected candidates.

That might be true. I also talked to someone who handles graduate admissions for ChemE at MIT and he said they were still reviewing applications and would continue to do so for the next two weeks. Don't worry yet.

I don't think they have sent out all their invites. I'm really hinging on the fact that they haven't and am hoping to god that I'll get a good e-mail this week.

Yes, when my package was complete, the lady at MIT (Katie Lewis?) told me I should hear from them by the end of February. So I am waiting, even though I know my chance is slim at best.

I still have not heard from MIT. I heard back early from Berkeley (accepted in Dec). I also have heard back from Princeton (accepted in Jan). Stanford rejected me today, and I am waiting on MIT and CalTech. Starting worry since I graduated first in chem E, from a top 5 ranked school, and first in my major. 770Q/520V/5.5AW.
To tell you the truth, I assume that I will get rejected, simply because others have heard back and I have not. Just preparing for the worst. Berkeley and MIT were my top two picks, so I can live with that.

Have not seen any results posted yet for MIT admissions in 2009 - Grad School Admissions Results, Discussions, Tips, Forums, Help • thegradcafe.com
of course this doesn't mean letters have not started to go out yet. Interestingly, the acceptances that are posted on this website for Fall 2008 range from Jan 31 all the way to March 10. That's quite a range.

Has anyone gotten rejected from MIT yet? I hear people claiming they have "friends" that got into MIT, but has anyone heard of any rejects yet?
I don't get what is taking them so long. I feel like I should have received an answer by now. I got into CalTech so I am moderately hopeful for MIT, but seeing as how their recruiting weekends are March 6-7 and 13-14 I am wondering if I should brace for rejection. :-
