So, I just applied EA to MIT and Caltech. I just used the words “MIT” and “Caltech” in the same sentence. Deal with it.
But on another note, what’s MIT’s financial aid like anyways? Their website is awfully vague…
I hope it’s better than Caltech’s…

How do they decide on the 20% or so that they reject from EA? Are these people who should have never really applied in the first place (didn’t have all prerequisites or scores were way below the 25th percentile) or do they just not get the right vibe from some applicants to begin with so they give them the boot?

I submitted my application last weekend and had my interview a while ago. =] Does anyone know when we will find out the decision? I read somewhere that it will be out 12/16 at 5 PM Eastern. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks =]

@Dkerstiens
I love you for honoring Avogadro’s number. I hope someone at MIT will realize that this and find how amazing you are. Best of luck to you! And best of luck to everyone else!

Who else still hasn’t applied and will be part of the 75% that submits the app in the last 6 hours?

That would be me :P

JUST SUBMITTED, it’s 11/01/10 11:14 PM where I am right now :)

damn, just realized I should’ve tried for 11:11…

MIT received my ACT scores. I get excited over the smallest things. :p

Neither, really – they’re applicants whose applications were not selected EA, and the admissions committee feels they would not have been competitive for admission during the RD round.

No. Decisions were announced last year on 12/16, but the date for this year has not yet been announced.

Just applied early to MIT. I applied last year and was rejected, but I really understand why they rejected me and I’m almost glad I did. This year, I’m more hopeful. I really, really love MIT; but I guess MIT has to reciprocate that, haha.

Oh well. Apps are in, and now I can renew my creeping on college confidential for another year.

Also, I think MIT should try to get admissions out on December 2nd in honor of Ap

The waiting would kill me if I wasn’t so busy all the time. Thanks Azn, I was told by a friend what day it was (I am much more of a physics nerd) and it seemed suitable so I did it Getting in EA at MIT would be the best birthday present ever!

Good luck guys.

MIT has not yet received my Evaluations (A and B), and my Secondary School Report. They were both sent a while (two weeks) ago. Should I be worried?

Nope, the system is very slow to update. Look for them to appear halfway through November when MIT announces that they have finished sorting the mail and updating myMIT.

Fotching MIT ftw!!! LOLZZZ <3

The next 40 or so days will be very exciting… just think, some of the ppl on this thread are future MIT students… nice…

good luck to all

ahh kumes123 that thought is pretty insane!

good luck everyone!

(oh and today’s date is binary!! haha)

I was looking through the past students, and being a URM is so influential. Why did I have to be Indian?

^ Why did I have to be Chinese? :(

Cutting.

Close.

Submitted my app with three minutes to spare.
