@anxiouswreck We’re one of them lol. Caltech is predicted to come out on Saturday and Georgia Tech comes out on Saturday as well. It’s good to get some decisions–and possibly acceptances–before the mob of schools comes out towards the end of the month, but it won’t be super great if said decisions are rejections (which will probably be the case for me lol rip).
Does anyone know MIT do conditional offers?
No, pretty sure they dont
I actually didn’t even apply to MIT lol- I just came here to sympathize with everyone’s anxiety (see my username? :)))
@LondonVall BB-8 was so cute. The entire video was adorable.
My friend’s sister was the BB-8 body double :))
MIT doesn’t do conditional offers, but acceptance can be rescinded if you do something really bad or if your grades drop way too much. Apparently, they send an email first to let you explain yourself though. So, whoever gets in, don’t go too crazy and don’t forget to join us in the facebook group and groupme chat!!! We can’t wait to meet you guys <3
That video legitimately made me tear up not gonna lie :))
No joke though, everytime MIT posts anything and I get caught up reading it, I want to go there more and more…
@littlechild Same! I keep falling more and more in love with them. It’s basically the perfect school for me. Wednesday’s going to be ROUGH.
Question, should I be freaking out if I just got a Caltech rejection? MIT is my dream…
@NotTypicalNerd not at all. Every college is different and is looking for something different, so just because you got rejected to one place, doesn’t mean another won’t accept you! Best of luck!
@nicolasdeadman This is really comforting. I was rejected by Caltech today, too. Thank you!
I feel like everyone that applies to Caltech also applies to MIT but not necessarily the other way around.
@equality4all I completely agree, I didn’t end up applying to caltech, and would much rather go to MIT. I’ve been thinking for the past few weeks about my anxiety in regards to MIT decisions and other ivies and then I took a step back and realized how extremely blessed I am to even be worrying about this…think about how many kids don’t have the financial means to even go to college, and think about all the kids who would never in a million years have even a chance to go to a school like MIT. Just food for thought as the decisions come in, that this in no way defines us and we should all be proud of what we’ve accomplished for the past few years. Best of luck come 3/14!
@frazzledazzle I honestly don’t know how I am going to be on Wednesday… probably an emotional wreck either way.
@nicolasdeadman beautifully worded. I feel like a lot of people on CC should read your post. =;
@musicmeister22 thank you! i’m sure i’m not alone in saying this, but by going through this thread amongst other competitive schools, i can say that this MIT thread has some of the kindest people on it. it makes me want to go to MIT that much more just to be in a place with so many more beautiful and kind people like all of you!
@littlechild It’s going to be rough. I have a jazz band rehearsal that I cannot miss–jazz states are next Saturday–when decisions come out. Someone is coming to work with the band, too. Thankfully I know him so it’ll be fine to sneak away to check. I’m going to be a nervous wreck all day and it’ll be hard getting my decision since the freshmen I sit by are so hopeful and really hope I get in. But I am hopeful about what will happen nonetheless. From what I’ve experienced with MIT and going to SSP last summer, I have a good feeling about Wednesday (I was rejected from Caltech tho so idk).
@frazzledazzle I plan on staying afterschool on Wednesday for as long as possible… this is the only school that makes me feel this way… okay that sounded like an awkward confession…
