MIT, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech and more. I'll chance back of sho

Before I mention my stats, I just want to clarify that my essays will explain my relatively low GPA. I'll share with you guys the fact that mother got Multiple Sclerosis when I started 9th grade and it really affected my gpa. I use this to my advantage in my essays, explaining that by junior year, I had figured out that I want to build prosthetics and technology to help people with illnesses. Also, I go to an extremely selective engineering centered high school with a 10% acceptance rate.

-Urbana Champaign
-Georgia Tech
-UPenn
-Rutgers
-Virginia Tech
-Stern

The Carnegie Mellon recommendation will probably help your prospects for Carnegie Mellon, but will probably have little impact on other schools. Your UW GPA is a bit on the low side for some of your schools. What’s your hook? Overall, there seem to be few differentiating factors in your application for schools that take a more holistic approach. You still have a shot, but definitely put some extra emphasis on the MS and athletic portions of your profile.

-Ann Arbor -high target
