MIT Decisions

Hey guys..
The MIT decisions will be out on March 14th..
Heres wishing luck to all those who applied..
How many of u are confident about getting in??
Do post replies..
Cheers!!

Paimit : none of us really have the right to be confident about being accepted. With 4000 odd intnl applicants and just 120 spots, the competition is nothing short of brutal.
But well all we can really do is hope for the best, and surely something good will come of it…
All the best to you to!!
Pi day awaits…

hmmm… lets hope for the best!!!

I am so confident of getting in that I have already started looking at Fall course list. I would not have applied if I didn’t think I had a chance.

Unfortunately, MIT doesn’t have copyright on knowledge. Even people who get into lowly colleges like UIUC and Perdue can potentially acquire the same knowledge I am going to gain at MIT. That is not fair. :p

WhollyGlib: haha. Fresh lease of life for the fellow-applicant bashers on CC :D

Ouch! ayushkhaitan, that hurt. :(

lolz.
All I want to say is GOOD LUCK!!! I’m honoured to be witness to the ‘halo of genius’ that surrounds your hallowed head.

It’s just that people who claim to be shoe-ins at top colleges without any proof of stats are not welcomed kindly on CC.

But then again, I’m just feeding a ■■■■■. Thanks for the fresh injection of humour in this thread :D

‘lowly’ colleges. ROFL

ayushkhaitan, that was rude. Why are you so mean to me?
I think you need to see a proctologist. ha ha

Lol mit
<_<

Best of luck guys!!

@WhollyGlib:

You’re as “god-like” as Mr.Carrey in Bruce Almighty.
Any way, good luck for your MIT app.
Or else, should I congratulate you since you are sure that you’re gonna get in?

@smit5292 thanks!

Very few people can be sure of admission at MIT. If one is obsessed with math, science or eng. and if that can be conveyed in the application then admission to MIT is given. One kid in our school got in during EA and his unweighted rank is something like 50/500 but he is obsessed with math. It is a genuine interest in the subject.

I know another girl who also got an EA for coming fall. She didn’t participate in any math or science contests. She took the toughest math/sci classes she could take including some at a local community college. She aced them all and scored 2300+ in SAT. Outside of class her passion was music.

People who do reasonably well in class, score well in standardized tests and are passionate about something find it easier to get in at MIT.

I got deferred during EA and I am hoping for the best.

Best of luck to you all. I will be happy if one or more of the regulars here on Indian threads gets in.

@gary sorry, chap couldn’t chat with you the other day.

whollygib… u are a ■■■■■… it is so obvious… internationals cannot even apply EA at MIT… so all you said was BS… please stop lying and boasting… with this kind of attitude… i pray that even “lowly” colleges reject you…

on another note… what is it with the most number of narcissistic/ egoistic and arrogant people on the indian forum … i have noticed i find them mostly on the indian forum… that is so not cool peeps… really not cool…

[MIT Admissions: Early Action Versus Regular Action](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/early_action_versus_regular_action/index.shtml)

in case you want proof… the last line

indiansaudi, you win! Just because I posted here you are assuming that I am an international student. Now don’t tell me that I shouldn’t be posting here . It is none of your business.

Keep hope alive but it is not the end of the world if one doesn’t get into MIT.

Here is the story of a man who went to not so well known university in Athens Ohio.

His holyness whollyglib just put UIUC and Purdue in the “lowly” colleges category.

I believe there will be one and only one selection at MIT from this forum :stuck_out_tongue: Lets see if my prediction comes true.

and that will be you, huh gary?
