I'm have a problem, i firstly and lastly contacted my E.C on 11.28.2012, that's when i introduced myself and i had a few questions about the process and i asked him if he wouldn't mind answering them, so we exchanged a few e-mails and he answered my questions, my last e-mail was about scheduling the interview, and he did not reply, i waited 4 days and wrote to him again on 12.02.2012, and waited 1 more day, and he still didn't reply, so i wrote an e-mail to interview@mit.edu explaining the situation, i would've waited a bit longer but the deadline is the 10th of December, and they too did not reply, so i really don't know what to do...

Please advise me on the situation...

Call the Admissions office.

I’m an international student, does that matter?

Nope, it does not matter if you are an international. Write to interview@mit.edu. Look, we do not know what happened. Anything could have. As a regional chair of the Educational Council I have dealt with most crises. Indeed, tonight I have had to reassign some 35 interviews to different EC’s due to a variety of crises. I have an EC who informed me today that his firm is sending him to a different continent for the next three weeks. I have had one EC drop dead during an interview season. Who knows what happened in your case, but the EC office will sort it out.

Also be aware that the 10 December deadline is the interview scheduling deadline. In my international region that means that if you have contacted any EC and discussed scheduling the interview by the 10th, then we will ensure that you get the interview. The deadline is really to prevent candidates ringing up ECs on Christmas eve to demand an interview. Nonetheless, despite the deadline, every year it happens.

Do not worry.

Oh my lord, I read “session” instead of “season” and thought, “I sure hope that kid ended up getting in!”

Yes, that has not happened in my region, but it would be a heck of an interview story.
