Wow, UT is actually pretty high on the list! You applying to Princeton? I heard its more die hard that CalTech though

JK didn’t see the word “target”. At least I bumped your thread lols

Wow, I just saw this, but thanks, hahah.
I’ve updated my list to:
MIT (EA)
Stanford
UPenn
Cornell
Northwestern
Rice
Cal-Tech
UT-Austin

yay im happy for you!
is this final?

Eh, pretty much, unless I think of another common app school later on.
Happy Birthday!!!

SCIENCE BOWL!!!

I know someone who got into chemical engineering at MIT with not even close to those good of stats. Of course, then again, it is MIT. But to me it looks like you have an excellent chance.

P.S. did you go to nationals for science bowl?

I think you have a pretty good shot especially since your scores are so high.
Can u chance me back

@justin7473: Thanks! Yeah, it’s pretty much a lottery, I’m just hoping my university research plus engineering-interest activities will go along with my essays and recs about passion. And no, hahah, I didn’t (but my team is getting really serious about it this year!). Luckily, I have that FIRST international champion title under my belt :)

@Metellusy: To be honest, it’s really too early to tell, but I can tell you’re on the right track! Just keep up the grades and rigorous coursework, get good test scores, and pursue activities that fit with whatever you’re planning to do for the rest of your life

I live in east Texas and I’m applying to both MIT and UT Austin as well! Good luck!

Oh hahah, I thought this thread was dead! Good luck to you as well!

This thread isn’t dead. ;)

Honestly, you’ve got a better-than-average chance. (If I had to put money on anyone from our school to get in EA, it would be you.) Torque + the UCLA internship are going to make you stand out from the rest of the crowd; I’m just not sure exactly how much FIRST will help you, since you’re not applying into any type of mechanical engineering.

Go ahead and push Siemens, though. Colleges like MIT admire the gumption to apply to those huge competitions, regardless of results. Also, make sure those essays are as perfect as can be. The rest of it is out of your hands. It’s a crapshoot no matter who you are, but you’re definitely in the running.
