My parents are pretty supportive thankfully. I've tried to build up the best resume possible to indicate my interests and what I want to do in life. If MIT doesn't want me, then maybe I don't belong there.

If they do want me, however, I'll be one happy camper =D

See, kansas understands me... my mom doesnt even have a high school educate and my dad finished high school at 14... and got a masters degree at 18... so he thinks im kinda screwed especially since he studied in india where competitiveness is like dancing with a snake without getting bitten and ****in it off (odds of getting in are like 1% lol and even for state schools LOL)...

i've built a resume tahts for sure... in terms of extracurrics... and ive got enough neurosurgeons to back me up for my university apps so im fine if i dont get in lol

I'm in a similar boat. Everyone in my family, school, and neighborhood think I'll get in. It will be very difficult to tell them I didn't get in.

man everyone says stuff... do u actually believe them lol.. most of them are misinformed haha... heck i know a math prof who thinks ill get in the man is a genius but he thinks its 1980s where they accepted like 40% of students and where kids would hardly graduate high school lol... watch out what people say guys...

for one thing.. most people actually don't want u to get accepted haha... and so they are trying to be nice in saying ,"Yah ull definitely get accepted"... think like a philosopher guys lol theres always infinite choices for 1 option

I wish they'd just release the date that decisions come out already
[/quote]
I promise they'll announce it as soon as they are able to. If they haven't announced it, that means they themselves do not know the date by which all of the decisions will be made.

just for fun q. Do u guys think they have made all their decisions or are they still deciding on some? u guys prolly don't know they answer but its intersting to think about that way.

I think they're still making decisions. It's scary to think they may have read some of our own applications already though... and maybe decided?

Yeah, lilyrobin, I agree. For me it's really nerve-wracking to think that they read my name, and now know my story, and on decision day will address me directly.

It is nerve racking. I'm hoping they make the announcement tomorrow if it is indeed the 13th, that'd be five days before the release, which is what they did last year. But now that we've gotten so close..I wanted to wish everyone the best of luck! Whether you are admitted, deferred, or even rejected, I think we should all be proud of ourselves for being among a pool of incredible students. Let's hope for the best! :)

i know srsly. It weird that they have already read my app, and have made their judgements and critiqe on it already. Its just kinda odd thinking abuot that lol.

omggg.. I don't think they'll be that harsh. lol. I hope they're not doing applications in alphabetical order since my last name is well...very near to the end.....

I don't think they'd go alphabetical...either way, I'm in the middle...but I'm so anxious, I had a dream last night that I was rejected because my HS registrar turned in the wrong transcript and It was all Cs! but then I woke up.
Anyways, I read on MIT blogs that if you are accepted, you acceptance letter and stuff comes in a tube, not an envelope...so it'll be obvious if you got in if you wait for the mail.
