--MIT Early Action Countdown Thread--

they came out on the equivalent of the 13th (the saturday in the middle of december) last year.

I just wish matt would post a blog post just confirming our intense amount of stress and worry, even if they can't announce a date just yet.

but man, just think if we're stressed-the admissions office must be way more stressed. they're the ones deciding our fates, we're just here to receive the results of the intense decision process.

I see this on the left side of the admissions website:

Early Action Decisions • Early Action decisions will be available online starting at 9pm EST on Monday, December 15. Instructions on how to access the online decisions will be provided soon. Stay tuned!

Well, that's 1 week, 3 hours, and 14 minutes from now!

^^ Beat me to it!! I just saw it too!!! GAHHH!!! I can't WAIT!

Why would they choose 9 PM?

Do they seriously need those few extra hours after, say, 5 pm?

It's best to have a complete meltdown after one has some food in their stomach already.

Well, I'm just glad they've finally told us exactly when decisions would be released! Makes the wait alot easier!

WTH! I so thought they were coming out on the 13th....A Saturday, there is no way I can go to school on tuesday now (regardless of the desicion) :(

If they were released at 5pm EST, I am sure there would be people who would cut class to check (on the west coast). MIT probably just doesn't want to promote skipping class.

Updated countdown clock!

Countdown Clock

eh... seems like much longer now haha

Oh noooooo! It's on a Monday!!!!! Grrr, Mondays! :'(

I haven't had nightmares about an MIT rejection yet though lol. But they're coming :P

OMG i hate this thread
u will all get in an i will get rejected

Wow. They've done Saturday (second week in December) at 11 am for the past several years -- in large part so people have the weekend to deal. It was Sat., 12/15 last year.

My bet is that they're releasing them after business hours for the same reason my high school theater director used to post cast lists on Fridays 9th period: so they can get the heck out of Dodge before the angry phone calls start coming in.

Ana dearest, I assure you, I'm not getting in. :( Yay optimism. cheers

^LMAO that is way too funny (to mollie)

lmao static - of course you will. if not we can hold hands and eat cake as consolation

Maybe they wanted to make it by the 15th, because many colleges do so by then. But they won't be ready by the 13th? Well, whatever, now we know. I can't figure out yet if I'm more or less nervous, knowing the date/time...

im confused...

not really. I really wish we had decisions the 13th, but all is well

Please tell me that I am not the only one who had the song "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies get stuck in my head after reading this announcement.

I thought that they did it on saturdays to give us the weekend to stop freaking out...guess they don't love us enough :(

I'd be willing to bet that a) they will not be ready by the 13th, and b) they will be working absurd hours through the weekend to get everything ready to go by the 15th.

So who's going to make the EA decision thread? Format's in the thread stickied at the top of this page.
