--MIT Early Action Countdown Thread--

Haha, I love the people that got accepted on the Stanford board, and they're like "woooo! stanford class of 2013!!!!!" and I'm like "yeah, you and your three classmates"

Ohh jeez, I wish i wasn't directed to that chance slaying thread. I really have it in my mind a deferral at MIT is a compliment, so I guess it didn't change my outlook majorly. Now an acceptance would just be amazing/welcomed flattery. Hey, if there are that many 2400's on Stanford thread, that has to mean less of them are our competition at MIT EA, and therefore might help our chances, right? Said the man trying to convince himself with somewhat faulty logic…

Hey, whatever logic gets you through, man, cause now we can't do anything about anything.

we can only wait, and come to terms with the fact we want to get in sooooo baaaaaaad.

oh mann....the stanford board pretty much scared me. lol.

So, how is everyone passing the time between now and the deciding point of the rest of our lives?

listening to ancient choral music and writing a 5-minute play. seriously.

Also playing SIM TOWER which I found after years and years on the internet this morning!!! best game ever!

Finding CC and posting on it to squelch my nerves...haha

Applying to the rest of the colleges on my list.

Trying to get around to filming another five minute short (the first one is here: How to NOT do your Math Homework by TBOL3 -- Revver Online Video Sharing Network which includes very bad acting).

Working on getting an AS from my local community college (why, I really don't know, I guess for kicks and giggles, or maybe it's just bragging rights, but it's fun).

Throwing a party for everyone in my school who's in IB (it's only about 20, and I think only 10 will actually show up).

Watching the following course via OCW, to 'possibly' add into my Extended Essay MIT OpenCourseWare | Comparative Media Studies | CMS.930 Media, Education, and the Marketplace, Fall 2001 | Home .

Playing far too much DDR, and a homebrew PVR my father and I made a few years back.

Making too many posts on forums like these.

And trying to keep my head on straight, make a better neighborhood via CAS, the BSA, and my local religious group, and trying to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep a night.

I really am not too worried about MIT's decisions at the moment. I'm far to busy to really care. Which is why I can forget it 95% of the time.

I hope they didn't secretly track how many times we logged into our MIT account because, frankly, i would be screwed haha. Oh, jeez that sounds so neurotic, but i found it funny when my sister mentioned the idea (while i was re-reading my app and thinking, "ohh shoot I should have put x in there, what were you thinking?").

this should help everyone out: YouTube - 40 Inspirational Speeches in 2 Minutes

^^ Oh man, that was awesome.

if you guys seen the Stanford Slaughter, well..I've got a name for this coming monday for MIT: MIT Massacre. lol.

Sounds pretty accurate. D:

that's pretty clever, wildchartermage

alliteration! bam!

hopefully it won't be a massacre, I mean, Columbia didn't massacre people, and Dartmouth only kind of did.

but the thing is, MIT's too cool to kill us. I could see them deferring pretty much everyone, however, which is statistically what they will do.

AHHH I'm so nervous. I could easily see myself getting rejected, accepted, or deferred, which I know is kind of weird but my stats/essays/ECs just combine in a way that makes me think anything could happen.

2 days 4 hours 23 minutes.... I want it over with.

hahaha, thanks guys. Well, i hope for the best for me and all of us!!!!!! Hopefully, it won't turn it into a MIT Massacre.

After seeing how Stanford's decisions went out a few days early, I keep finding myself logging on to decisions.mit.edu, hoping to see that the decisions were mistakenly posted already, but only seeing "You have successfully confirmed your ability to view your decision online..." lol
