--MIT Early Action Countdown Thread--

Nice, my birthday is June 13th as well haha

Amethyst is the best jewel.

That is All.

Nice Jashper! Maybe both of us will be lucky enough to get in!

haha lilyrobin I have work too on like every Saturday in the world EXCEPT the one of the 13th! So I really hope we get the decisions that day

i have a debate tournament on both the 13th and the 20th -___- so either way, i'm gonna be itching to get to a computer but unable to find one =(

That would be most excellent! 13 is also my lucky number, for the same reason. 1991 for you as well?

Just give your account info to a friend and tell him to text/call you once he checks maybe? Just a suggestion, but yeah, it's hard, I was in Russia with no internet when my SAT scores were out so I didn't know until 2 weeks later, it sucked. :(

Anyone else check the MIT Admissions home page like every 3 seconds? I keep hoping there will be a new blog post or something, but NOTHING for the past few days.

Oh my gosh, I do too. I have a laptop for school, and that pretty much takes up all my class time, checking the MIT blogs.

There's a reason for MIT to announce it soon-it's detracting from my education! :D

it would be nice to get in after all this stress and wondering.

oooooooooh man I know, best of luck to all of us. And yeah, I've been checking it all the time and NOTHING! I'm so jealous of people who applied to other schools early and know when their results are going to be announced. Hopefully they're just so busy accepting all of us that they don't have time to write about it on the blogs.

When did they announce the decision date last year?

I think it was the 10th or the 12th (they came out on the 15th). I read last year's blog a few days ago but am too lazy to dig it up again.

Announcement was on the 10th with decisions on the 15th. I'm guessing it will be about the same this year.

Yale has a thread with a similar question so I figured I'd pose this in our humble nook:

What are you planning on doing on or around the time when decisions are supposed to be released? I'm thinking of taking my laptop to Starbucks because I think the hustle and bustle might actually calm my nerves; although the presence of coffee might make things worse. Hmm. Tricky.

you know last year as a junior i expected myself to be anxiously waiting for mit's reply. Now i am a senior and i am surprisingly not thinking about it all. Could be that i just gave hope. lol.

haha trickstylez. maybe your subconscious knows you're going to get in and so you're feeling perfectly calm =]

haha that's funny, good for you. Last year as a junior I had no idea I wanted to go to MIT. Now I am thinking about it all the time!

Thankfully I've been exceptionally busy to help keep me calm.

I've been pretty busy too, so I haven't been obsessing about it, which is good. Until I come on CC, of course : )

I think, if decision day is indeed a Saturday, I will convince my boss to let me bring my laptop to work to check. Because I know I won't be able to concentrate on doing anything right if I know my decision is available and I don't have it.

^that also is a reason for me not getting as much into it. I turned in the app and lets see what happens. Meanwhile i will try to get my other stuff done
