DOES anyone have a paper application for MIT that they could send to me-my account is locked-my answer to the secret question isnt working-if so PM me please!

Hi Chris and Mollie,

I was deferred EA. If I wanted to send in an update letter, should I do it by the RA deadline, or should I send it in with my midyear report?

Thanks,
Emily

The fax number is printed on your MIT forms. Just check the available cover for Supplemental Document at the MyMIT page.

The fax number is 617-687-9184. MITChris posted this on page 46, but here you go for this page. He said that this is the preferred fax number.

Send it in with the midyear report, or by the end of January, whichever comes first. There’s no need to submit it by January 1.

HEY ALL

Does admissions dislike answers that exceed the word limit? Would a 300-word essay be too much for a 250-word answer, if I feel like I can’t significantly shorten it?

Also, in the self-reported course work, how should we denote this year’s first quarter grades? My school uses a semester system, so each class will only have 2 grades for the entire year. Is it okay to write the grades I received last quarter and write “(first quarter)” next to them?

I’m a domestic applicant with US citizenship, but I speak mostly Japanese at home, and live in Japan right now.
I did get well over the minimum on the TOEFL, and mid 600s on the CR, so I thought that it might have been better to send in the TOEFL… after I submitted Part 2.

I haven’t put in anything about the TOEFL on my submitted app, but do you think it would be okay to send in the scores and have them consider them?

Hey MITChriss;
I’ve been looking about this for a long time…
Can u plz tell me:
I am an Indian Student
I’ve qualified 12th as per Indian Standard of education.
I’ve also qualified DOEACC O Level & DOEACC A Level…
WES states DOEACC A Level equivalent to 1 year undergraduate in US but this is as in 1999.
I don’t know whether the standard is changed or not.
But DOEACC A Level has recently been made equivalent to graduation in India.
So what shall i opt for admission in MIT… Plz help me with all this… I am really crazy to get into MIT to gain the practical knowledge…

I have a slight problem - I submitted my mail applications by DHL just now, so that I can get them in by the Jan 1 deadline as all other mailing services are closed til Jan. 2 at least. DHL needs signing for the package, would MIT still receive the file?
Fax wasn’t working. Seriously, it just wouldn’t send.

it’ll be fine jimmy

Jimmy, I’ve sent mine through DHL too on December 20th, and MIT received the package yesterday. Even if you had sent your documents on December 31st, you’d still be fine. What counts is the date on which you sent it (before Jan 1st).

Do students who were accepted early have to complete the midyear report online as well? Thanks.

@matlas
Admitted EA students have to complete midyear report.

Thanks Chris.
Sandro - yes, I know it matters when I sent them not when they’re received, but I was just wondering if the signing for the package would be inconvenient or wouldn’t be done because there’s just so many applications to be processed.

One of my essays involved a friend and the use of his name several times, but I didn’t put a disclaimer (that I asked and he agreed). I was going to in the additional info part but I forgot at the end. Typical. Will this be ok?

i don’t even know what that means

Hello Chris,

I am an international applicant. At my school, I had an English teacher (who wrote one of my recommendation letters) to help my science teacher and counselor to write recommendations for they could not write in English. I am afraid that if MIT tries to contact them, they will not be able to answer promptly. My question is: will I be informed if there is a need to contact the school?

Thanks so far!

To MITChris: is there a deadline for CSS profile completion?
