MIT financial aid not received yet???

I sent my stuff at the beginning of february through express, but on myMIT it still says that it hasn't been received.

I did phone MIT about what to do, and they said I need to use IDOC to send my financial aid form. But I don't really understand how to.

Did everyone use IDOC as well?

also, the fact that MIT hasnt reminded me to submit my financial aid package, does that mean that I haven't gotten into MIT? :(

they havent reminded me either; we are in the same boat.

yes alot of schools use IDOC. I would advise to fax your 2006 tax form ASAP to MIT fin aid office. Then send in ur IDOC packet IMMEDIATELY! It's already past the deadline (march 1)

what is IDOC packet??? also, because of weird circumstances, our family doesn't have tax return to send them :S

The financial aid office doesn't have any idea who has or has not been admitted, so you shouldn't take any communication from financial aid as a sign that you have or have not gotten in.

Through the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC), the College Board collects families' federal tax returns and other documents on behalf of participating colleges and programs.

The site for IDOC is here.

If your family is not required to pay taxes, there is a "non-tax filer statement" to complete.

thank you for your reply molliebatmit =)
i still have a question though
I am a south korean international student living in Canada...and for the non-tax filer statement, it says for ppl who don't have to file U.S federal tax return..

isn't it self-evident that I don't have to file U.S. tax return? do I still have to do IDOC?

I am still confused with this whole IDOC thing :(
First it says to sign-in (except I don't have an IDOC account and don't know how to create one) oh man :(

I hope my screwed up finaid app doesn't affect my decision...

If you are international, you do not need to file the IDOC.

Daniel said here:

As for the IDOC, remember it is just for domestic students and only to submit your 2006 tax returns [if you are international].

So no, you do not need to submit forms through IDOC. Perhaps you could call again and emphasize that you are an international applicant?
