Anybody who have been accepted as a transfer student into MIT or Harvard here? What was your Application was like? I mean GPA, Extracurriculars or SATs?

I am a student at a top US university, doing ECs as a student ambassador, in sports, student government and few volunteering stuff. I also plan doing internship this year and take SATs. I will have a GPA of 3.76 by next Spring semester if I work hard, and I wonder if I have any chance for this schools with such a GPA & ECs?

If you’re currently at a ‘top’ university, you shouldn’t bother with the SAT, that’s for HS students or possibly CC transfers that want to have supporting evidence for their gpa.

Nothing wrong with a 3.76; that’s perfectly fine if the course load is substantial…i.e. mostly non-fluffy courses including serious intro/mid-level/and possibly advanced/grad level work in specific departments/fields of your choice.

Entomom and jazzpark offer good advice. If you’re at a top university, I’m assuming your SATs are at least around 600/650+ in each section on average? Just don’t bother retaking. It’s a waste of time and money. Focus on your classes and have some fun in college.
