MIT information

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten something through the mail from MIT?

MIT sent me an email like a month ago that asked if I wanted to be on its mailing list and that if I clicked on some link, they would send me some information about MIT/application process. I clicked on the link and it said they added me to the mailing list.

I still havent gotten anything from MIT yet, so I was just wondering if anyone else has (maybe Im just being impatient)? I want to apply to MIT EA next year and I really want to go to MIT, so it would be very cool to get as much information about MIT as possible.

I think the email said that MIT would send me a viewbook (maybe different name)? But it said it was something with a lot of information on it, so naturally I was very curious. They did give me a poster like 3 months ago, but that was different.

Did anyone else get this email and click the same link--get the viewbook? I think the email introduced the person that sent it as the director of admissions. I also dont know if this was a result of the student search from collegeboard for high PSAT score or from AMC for making USAMO...as Ive gotten letters from other universities for both things (I dont think this will make a difference in when they send information though).

Thanks

Anybody get an email?

I want to know as much about MIT as I can before I apply.

Thanks

My sister received the same mail awhile ago as well; I believe it’s a mass mailing based on PSAT scores.

If you’re really impatient about the viewbook, you can email the Admission Office directly re: obtaining a viewbook. That’s how I got my viewbook when I applied to MIT. You’ll get the book in a week or so.

Just curious, but has your sister gotten the viewbook (I see that you are from Taiwan so thats a really far from MIT)

Im not that impatient so I probably wont just email MIT…I can wait…Im just curious because Ive gotten mail from all the other colleges that I would like to apply to and found some interesting things…but MIT is one of my top choices so it would be nice to know more.

I think the Admissions website and the blogs are probably more informative than the viewbook – I mean, you can read all the thousands of entries in the blog archives if you really, really, really want to know more about MIT. :)

Ok thanks and (ill add this to the FAQ thing at the top) when you apply to MIT, do you need a
