Thank you. :)

I feel like I am at a huge disadvantage as my interview was waived. I was really looking forward to it because I thought I might present myself much better in reality. I felt like I lost a great opportunity. :frowning:
However, I hope that my recommendations and essays have delineated my character vividly.
Oh, and I was wondering if my achievements in Taekwondo would make any significant impact. Sadly, I don’t think I would have a hook on the admission as far as MIT is considered because Taekwondo doesn’t come under the list of varsity sports. Nevertheless, Taekwondo’s something I’m extremely passionate about. I have been practicing it for 9 years. I am considered as a state champion and a national qualifier. I hold a 1st degree (senior) black belt. I train under the World Taekwondo Federation’s organization.

How cool ! I’m a black belt/state champion in Judo !
And 2 times state champion in Handball with my team.
(Of course, our “states” are much smaller then the united states :stuck_out_tongue: )

You guys have awesome EC’s:)

@hennebou, our states may be smaller, but the competition here sure is overwhelming. After all our country houses more than a billion of our kind.
@quiverfox, thanks, mate! What have you got? :)

well…nothing much…:)

I’m not from India actually :stuck_out_tongue:
And quiver, your ECs are awesome… You said you made 1.4M$ !

@quiverfox, what’s that supposed to mean? I thought you had amazing ECs.
@hennebou, it’s an honor to meet another fellow martial artist  The colleges will consider my Taekwondo, won’t they?

well…who told you that???
ok fine…i made a device…sold it to a company, won an international award and made 200,000$. I have a feeling this is what people described as amazing…;0

oH AND @hennebou That is just the estimates for 2015.;…:)Hope I get a little more also;)

@quiverfox, that is awesome  Please don’t say that is nothing much; it makes me weep from inside. :P

1 more month left for the RD decisions… Gaaahhh this is such a nerve-racking feeling. But I’m not expecting anything. Hope everything works out for the best. It would be nice to have a few Moroccans at MIT :P

I am also from Morocco and applied.

3 weeks and 1 day until we find out… So excited! :D

Hey guys, I need help. I want to know if Taekwondo athletes like me can be recruited. Note: Taekwondo is not a varsity sport, but a club sport at MIT and Stanford.

I think that if MIT doesn’t put Taekwondo on its list of varsity sports, then they won’t want to recruit people specially for it

If you mark a varsity sport on your application and don’t fill out the recruitment form, do they contact you to get more information before Pi Day?

No, club sports aren’t able to recruit. (Former club sport captain here.) Varsity sports are school-run, but club sports are entirely student-run.

Not to my knowledge, no.

I see a lot of interesting people here… which makes myself seem insignificant.
It’s amazing to see the types of stellar ECs people have…

europe, you’re the only other person I know from Morocco who has applied to MIT! How many other people do you think applied from here?

molliebatmit, thanks for the reply  Do MIT and Stanford send any likely letters prior to the official admission verdict?
