** MIT International Applicants' Thread 2017 **

@raith Yup, I’ll see you here! Just a few more hours!

Well, I will post my stats on the decision thread. Alternately, you can see them at the CWRU thread where I posted last week.

(Ignore what I wrote in general comments, I had misguided information for that)

Here you go: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/15588319-post20.html

Great stats I think :)

Lets hope for these acceptances! :smiley: :P

Haha, let’s hope man. Sometimes the very thought of MIT is so intimidating! :open_mouth:

Btw, have you posted your stats on CC before?

^^ Literally can’t believe you got waitlisted!!! :O

Maybe it’s because of the “essays reviewed by a full time writer” ?
Adcoms can feel when essays are not personal…

hi guys

good luck on pi day

Hey guys ! Someone from MA just watched my Youtube video 2 days ago !!

Has anyone from MA accessed your website/video in the last couple of days too ? Is this a good sign ?

@quiverfox: whats your TOEFL score?

@henne and @rajoftheuk The author is a personal friend and only read them, that too after submission. He gave no input whatsoever on what I could improve in them. They waitlisted a lot of people with good stats, probably to protect their yield. I was also waitlisted at Caltech the next day.

@Himan
yea, I’ve posted my most current stats on the CalTec decisions (page 2 or 3 if I remember correctly).

I guess all the decisions are made because Chris was on CC a few hours ago. If the decisions are discussed until the last minute, I don’t think he would have time for CC!!:p

Arf, sorry to hear that !
And glad to see that your author did not alter them in any way… I’ve heard too much stories of people who hire author to write their essays, and this revolts me…

@hennebou The local Princeton Review center offered me precisely that service. Gladly, I steered clear of it.

@RisingDragon

I go to a mid-sized state school in the west.

Anyone else here got a visit from MA in the last two days on the website/video link they provided on the app ?

I completely agree with how the idea of people who hire people to write their essays for them completely revolts me. Especially when I see people in my class who are the smartest and most qualified people I’ve ever met get waitlisted or rejected and then see a random neighbor who didn’t do much her entire high school career get in because she paid money to someone who did applications for a living.

@fluffin, totally with you. Especially considering the tight admit rates, where every seat has the hopes of hundreds of well qualified applicants riding on it.

People actually write essays for other poeple? Why? And they get caught, don’t they?

Sadly, no.

And big college prep companies like the Princeton Review openly advertise this service.
