<p>@henne and @rajoftheuk The author is a personal friend and only read them, that too after submission. He gave no input whatsoever on what I could improve in them. They waitlisted a lot of people with good stats, probably to protect their yield. I was also waitlisted at Caltech the next day.</p>
<p>I guess all the decisions are made because Chris was on CC a few hours ago. If the decisions are discussed until the last minute, I don’t think he would have time for CC!!:p</p>

And glad to see that your author did not alter them in any way… I’ve heard too much stories of people who hire author to write their essays, and this revolts me…</p>
<p>I completely agree with how the idea of people who hire people to write their essays for them completely revolts me. Especially when I see people in my class who are the smartest and most qualified people I’ve ever met get waitlisted or rejected and then see a random neighbor who didn’t do much her entire high school career get in because she paid money to someone who did applications for a living.</p>
<p>@fluffin, totally with you. Especially considering the tight admit rates, where every seat has the hopes of hundreds of well qualified applicants riding on it.</p>
