MIT Launch Summer Program 2016

@magiccarpet wondering the same thing too

@magiccarpet - From what I understand after looking through this MIT Launch thread, the program usually gives interviews to those students who may need to elaborate more on the activities that they talked about on their app. So if you don’t get an interview, I wouldn’t worry too much about it because it might mean that you were thorough with your application info. (Please correct me if I’m wrong)

I have another question. Since it is possible to be notified for acceptance before the notification date, will it be possible to receive rejection notifications before the date? Thanks!

@Treeroot Interview is a sign of interest and no rejection notifications release only on the official date

Has anyone been accepted before without an interview?

What are the chances of getting in after getting an interview?

@Bse15578 @thekidnextdoor I don’t think anyone has been accepted without an interview

@thekidnextdoor I’m wondering the same thing too… how often is it that people get accepted/rejected after the interview??

Just got accepted to Group 1 RD. Got my acceptance just 3 days after the interview.

@an424harv - Congratulations! If you don’t mind answering, how many days after did they send a interview request to you after viewing the video portion of your app? Based on the analytics of my video, it seems like someone from MIT Launch viewed it early last week and I still have not gotten an interview yet… Thanks!

@anniemit I wanted to ask some questions about the financial aid. The financial aid application that was sent to me does not have an option for countries other than US, Canada and Mexico. Since I reside in India, I do not have a social security number and thus am not able to fill the form properly. Hence I need some assisstance regarding how to go about it?
Thankyou so much for the help ma’am.

@Treeroot Thanks a lot! And about your question, if I go with the analytics, they saw my video on or before 27th February and I got my interview on 17th March. Which means it took them almost 3 weeks to schedule me an interview. So you should wait a little more. Don’t lose hopes yet.

@an424harv Make sure you email them about the financial aid application

@an424harv - Oh, that is definitely good to know! I’m not as worried now. Thank you

I think they viewed my video like Feb 20 :expressionless: still no interview.

Another thing is, I know someone who was accepted to the program last year and got his interview like one or two weeks prior to the admission decisions. Don’t lose hope! I’m still waiting too

According to the schedule, only 6 interview slots are left.

@thekidnextdoor How do you know 6 slots are left? And what does that even mean? Does it mean that all kids are selected and ONLY 6 places are left?

If you get an interview, you have to choose a time slot for the interview on a website. Currently, it shows that only 6 of those slots are left. It doesn’t mean that all the kids have been selected. Don’t lose hope if you haven’t got an interview yet. I was certain a week ago that I won’t be getting an interview now as it was too late, but I did get one :))

@thekidnextdoor Can you please share the website address where you saw the number of slots? [You can PM me]

And how was your interview? Are you selected?
