MIT Launch Summer Program 2016

@Bse15578 I chose only session 2, as I have got final examinations at the same time as session 1. Hopefully, that doesn’t affect my chances of getting in!

@Bse15578 Both.

I applied for session 2 still waiting for interview.

You can check out the facebook groups of the sessions to get a rough estimate on how many people have been accepted.

link please? @thekidnextdoor

Tons of people probably didn’t join the fb group or don’t have fb. There’s about 40-50 people in each session’s fb group right now but not sure how much space left there really is

Hi! So, the Facebook groups also contain all the admins and program coordinators, which should put the group memberships at 5-10 people more than the actual 2016 Launch students in each group. Also, not all accepted students have been added to the group so don’t read too much into how many students appear to be in the the Facebook groups.

@anniemit are interviews still being sent out throughout this and next week?

^^ I was wondering that too

@anniemit - Do applicants have to get an interview in order to get into the program?

$6000+ to attend a 4-week camp where you make an App (an “App-based business”).

AnnieMIT said last October: “Some of this summer’s teams have also continued and worked to release beta versions of their apps and to further develop what they started at Launch.”

Is it really only for apps? I thought it was for any business. In that case, I wouldn’t make it in because I have little coding experience D:

@Bse15578 - I’m pretty sure those who don’t have a lot of coding experience have gotten in as well. On the application, I remember that there was a section where you had to choose whether you are a designer, a team leader, or something like that, so based off of that, not everyone on a team have to have experience with coding. I personally do not have a lot of coding experience compared to others (I’ve learned some HTML and have played around with CSS, but that’s it). I believe that as long as you have the motivation and grit to build up your own company you could get in :).

Hopefully! I don’t have entrepreneurship experience either :)) so I hope it’s really just the motivation and grit.

Decisions are released next Friday! aahh still haven’t gotten an interview :frowning:

It seems like people are getting accepted just a few days after their interviews… I had my interview a couple weeks ago and still no news. Guess I didn’t make it… sigh

@Pulsatix - Just a reminder, there may be many more people than you realize who are in the same situation as you are in but just don’t share their situation with others.

@Treeroot true true

@Pulsatix Same here Pulsatix!

No email about an interview yet lol.
