But NICA4LYF,
You took calc and some APs that MITES offered as well and you were accepted.

"it seems like a lot of ppl here were accepted. wonder what this could mean.....it could mean MITES are sending out acceptance letters first, then wait for their responses. if some decline, then they move on to the rest of ppl who weren't accepted in the first place..."
But if its like that, why do they have fly-ins?

i am currently taking cal ab right now

along with those other classes with the exception of stats, which i took last year

I live in Central Cali, and i got nothing today... I'm so bummed out... hopefully monday will be the big day.

i don't know why--the part about fly-ins. maybe it meant for ppl like txky who turned in application late,?lol. good question. i really don't know.

NICA4LYF you live in hollywood florida and you received your decision. Thats not fairr unless like someone suggested they sent the acceptances out first which then means im screwed.

phew it's a good thing I'm only in pre-calc haha :p

Yea. It is weird that no one but flyins were rejected. But it might be because those that were rejected didn't want to reply to the forum...still its suspicious that there was not a single one.

I agree with that theory that acceptances were mailed out 1st.

I don't like that theory... :(

if i were rejected, i would immediately tell u guys, but from other threads, it seems like ppl are very forthcoming about their rejections, so why shouldn't they say the same here?
I think that the theory about sending out acceptance letters first might be right. Some ppl might not want to go, so that gives the rest of us a chance to get in if those ppl decide to not to go beforehand.

I know something for sure: someone last year who lived in NY got his package on March 23rd.

So if that's true, then when will everyone else be contacted?

Well I can't believe it still, but yeah I got in!!!!!!!

I totally wasn't expecting it, dad was talking about mail and there it was a large white envelope. One of the best experiences in my life, all I read was congradulations and start jumping up and down.

I'm sorry to any of those who didn't get in. I hope you got into something else or have back up plans for your summer. This is coming right off of finding out I was rejected from Caltech's YESS, and I was expecting to be rejected from MITES. I was starting to get real worried about my summer.

About the course thing I was a little worried when they said if you
taken a significant amount of the material to not accept. I actually thinks the advanced calculus works out because they say they review first year calc and then do multivariate differential calc and advanced material. So that stuff would be mostly after AP Calc BC. I have Calc BC right now. Also for the physics they offer the wave physics for those who have had calc & physics already. So it should probably work out for most people, unless they had Multivariable Calc already, I know 2 kids in my grade how have so I guess it happens.

the last year contact date could be different from today. congrats pgtori...where do u live? stats? race?

I haven't taken any calculus yet (i'm in pre-calc right now) - should I take advanced calc or regular? (I wanna take advanced, but will I be able to handle it?)

PS: Congrats to all those who got in! See you all there!

I'm pretty sure you take a placement test.

Oh. Right.

One more thing - do we get college credit for these courses?
