washington state... was the rejection mail first class or standard?

well i didnt wait for the mail. Im not going to be in town the rest of the week so i called the office and the lady told me. She says she normally doesnt say the decisions over the phone but since i wont be in town she told me. But she said they should be received by friday. I kind of expected i wouldnt get in because a girl in my area was accepted and she told me that she has to let them know by the 17 or 18.

OMG no mail again!!!!!!!!

thanks sakura, i'll think about that.

LOL...I called them up and I was insulted.

I was rejected, she said I was "academically advanced" from what they wanted. OMG! Oh really??????

Oh well, I can actually plan my summer! Good luck to all. Here are my stats if anyone cares:

I'm sorry, Balla102. Do you have any other summer plans? Out of curiosity, what were your stats?
@wildchartermage: You got into MITES, right? I discussed this same issue with my college counselor and we came to the conclusion that I should do both. I have a month of time before MITES and a couple months afterward during which I can do my own project and write a paper. If, for you, it comes down to you only being able to do one or the other, I would recommend MITES.
I still find it really weird that I got in after being told that I was "too advanced" by the fly-in lady. Maybe my admission was a mistake... but I do think that my essays were really good, so that may have balanced out being really advanced academically.

I'm in VA
Still havne't gotten a letter....
I called and they said to wait until friday to call back. i do not have a good feeling about all this

srry to discourage you guys,, but if u didn;t get the mail yet,, that probs means u were rejected
which includes me haha
but i cant wait for the awsome rejection letter lol
they say it's really nice haha I wanna see what thye sya abiout me lol

dang I still didn't get it today. I called and they said the same thing, that u should wait to call until friday. I wonder how friedrice got the person to tell him the decision. Maybe I should try emailing MITES for an answer

yyoon, I really don't think that just because we didn't get the mail yet means that we were rejected. For one thing, all the mails were sent on the same day. But anyways, I just emailed MITES and tried what BeAn did. Hopefully someone will answer

no, rosee09. I got the rejection mail today.....
I was kind of disappointed....I really think I would benefit from this program....Maybe I didn't express my other hardships I had to go through to reach the level I am today, though I might not be academically advanced as the rest of ppl here. I guess I'm the kind of person who don't want to flaunt how much I've gone through (handicapped, moved many times, lived with different families over my life, abusive childhood, etc), b/c that would probably make seem "un-normal" to other ppl and scare them away.... I don't want anybody's pity for what I had gone through!!! I know I have the potential to be great, but that potential was mostly lost....

but it doesn't matter anymore now, because I've been accepted into other summer research program in an university, and I"m going to there. Hopefully, I could enter Intel or Simenes and show the world that I'm good as I can be, and that I will do all my best to grab all opportunties out there! (sorry, my competitive and aggressive side tends to come out at times)

I've applied to 10 or so summer programs....and was rejected by almost every one of them except this summer research program. Is this a message to tell me that they are too good for me and that I am not good enough for them? Or that I didn't show myself enough?

This fall, I might apply to MIT, just to see if I can get in, and if I did....well, then let's see.

Eh...rejected =/

I called a few minutes ago and explained that I would be at a robotics competition until Sunday, so that's why she told me. It would've been so awesome to go to MITES. I suppose I'll just disappear from this thread now...

oh ic haha

man this mail is so frustrating just gonna forget abou it haha
and wait for a surprise

yyoon, we all like to believe that but its killing us on the inside, these past two days i've raced home from school to see if there was a letter.

in florida, nothing yet?
and for those of you who got in, did you get a package or a letter?

refugee kids in my area who live in florida and who have been accepted received their acceptances already.

The only reason i know i was rejected is because i called the office. It seems like they are keeping the rejection letters till the end of the week. Very Cruel, but Good Luck. lol

I heard its a big white envelope.

well, they said that its a letter. and yea its been killing me! I've been racing home everyday too!

Whhhhhy?
Still NOTHING? I HATE just sitting here wondering whether or not I got in. :(
