<p>Sooo......is there a formal waitlist or does everyone get a rejection letter and MITES pick and choose?</p>
<p>I don't like how this thread ALWAYS keeps my hopes up.</p>
<p>Sure I would want to attend MITES more than anything else, but all this incessant waiting is distracting me from my school work!</p>
<p>idk, it seems that if you got a rejection letter you're rejected. but if you didn't get anything, you're wait listed, which explains why they want the accepted to respond asap.</p>

<p>Well the girl I talked to today said that ALL the mail where mailed out last week. It would be interesting to see if there are two types of letters: waitlist and rejection.</p>
<p>Also, the girl I talked did not explicitly say I was "rejected." She said I was unable to make it because there were not enough spots available.</p>
<p>Would anyone else comment on this?</p>
<p>I dunno, when I called MITES. They never said a single word about wait-listing. They seem to imply that I will get a letter by friday at the very latest. But it'd be awesome if the fact that I havent gotten a letter means I'm on the wait list-of course it'd be more awesome if I'm simply accepted.
Yea friedrice, I'm being totally distracted from school thanks to MITES. In the future they should consider using email....</p>
<p>well, the thing is regardless of waitlisted or not, you can't get in if theres no open spot. So I dunno if she hinted at the waitlist or was phrasing it in a nice way.</p>
<p>Out of 80 people, there has to be some that would not be able to go because of other programs such as SSP, YESS, or RSI.</p>
<p>of course, there undoubtedly will be ppl not going. I wonder how many ppl are on the waitlist. I think the question on waitlisting is something that we need to call the MITES ppl about. Too bad its too late to call tonight-If I still get nothing tomorrow(mail or email) then I'll call and ask about the waitlist.</p>
<p>Don't worry you guys if you haven't gotten anything and don't get anything chances are you guys might make the program from the waitlist, it's never a No..</p>
<p>^ Of course, worse case scenario is that even if there were some people not able to make it, maybe they would still not accept more.</p>

<p>i think i read somewhere that in the past couple of years mites has always accepted people that were waitlisted. so theres still HOPE! </p>

<p>does anyone want to look at the letter they sent me? and the postmarked thing is the date the post office puts on a piece of mail saying it got in on that date. so i have to give it to the post office by friday.</p>
