MIT Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science (MITES)

Just got something today...rejection letter. If there is a waitlist letter someone please speak out.

Also, is there anyone not boing for sure?

i hope there's a waiting list.
since 8 out of 80 applicants from CC were accepted.
& they normally wait list 10 applicants.
statistically,at least one person should be waitlisted on CC, right?
but i don't know!

Rejected!
haha first rejection letter in my life,
but i was kinda ready for it so not too sore about it
just makes me wanna work harder!!

I have sad news guys...
If you got a rejection letter then it means that you aren't on the weight list. If you were weight-listed, it would say so. I also was rejected...I guess this is the end of the thread here for us. It was good to know everyone, too bad we can't meet at MITES.

How do we even know if there is a waitlist letter? No one has said anything else.

I'm guessing that MITES is just waiting to see who responds back or not. If there's not enough people, they will notify people who were rejected and offer them a slot.

Just a theory...

hahah. i like that theory!
but it seems like in the past. they always had wait lists.
does anyone know anyone from last year that was waitlisted and then accepted?

i still haven't gotten anything...

i'm waitlisted...sigh. I really wanted to get in

Really??? So there is a waitlist letter... what does the letter say?

Well sorry man, but at least you have a chance!

Good luck!

Sigh, I mailed my letter today. It's official, I'm going to MITES :D

moi aussi! What were your top choices for electives? My top choice is Genetics research, and then the robotics one.

omg i can't really remember :p

ummm.... i think the genetics was top and i randomly filled the others in.

eh, i wanted to go to ssp sooo bad :(

Then why didn't you go?

To be honest if I had gotten into SSP, I still would of gone to MITES. It sounds much funner & rewarding. Plus MIT interests me alot more than Caltech.

I sent mine off today..
It should be getting there tomorrow..
For my electives i put EE first then ED and then robotics followed by genetics..

I put EE first as well. I love electronics (esp. computers, but I'm not picky).

Last week I was dying to see if I could get into MITES. Now I'm dying to know if I'm good enough for MIT. lol

SSP is an astronomy/science program? Sounds like fun, but MITES sounds like far MORE fun. btw. the ssp website looks more professional than the MITES website

Exactly how competitive is SSP? Harder to get into than MITES?

wow I was mistaking YESS & SSP. I applied to YESS, not SSP. I seriously considered applying there but all those applications are so time consuming and draining.

Anyway I put genomics first- I seriously hope I get that.
Than I had engineering, electronics, and last digital.

I sent my stuff in on Wednesday.
Hey have you guys had a tubercuolisis skin test?

yeah i have.. but it was like 6 years ago.. it's required before you begin 7th grade in my town.

"Hey have you guys had a tubercuolisis skin test?"
Lol. I was like...wtheck is that? I just left it blank i think...

Anyway, what's more prestigious: SSP or YESS? Are they akin to MITES and RSI?

Maybe SSP, but it excepts more people than YESS and is at a less prestigious college than Caltech. But overall it would seem from the web-site that SSP Is more prestigious.

But they are not analogous to MITES & RSI. Kinda totally diff. programs.

So have any of you checked flight ticket costs, for those who have to fly. How much are you probably lookin to pay & from where?
