i think it happened with my school too

oh thats cool

It happened with two schools last year.

Thanks Vu, not getting into MIT would really suck, but i feel better now.

Are all MITES rejection letters the same? Because I find mine unbelievably nice. lol. I mean, if the RSI letters were bittermelon, the MITES one would be a toffee almond bar (very delicious, btw).

Hey I'm in New Mexico and I still haven't gotten anything. Is there anything else that I could do? Like call them and ask them about my acceptance/rejection? It's the frikkin 16th!!!

they said to notify them if you haven't recieved anything by April 15th.

where are you getting that information? did they actually post it somewhere online?

No, they said it on the postcard that they sent you to say that they have received your completed application package.

do any of y'all know about how many people get accepted, waitlisted, or rejected?

Oh, I emailed the director Dedric Carter or something and he said that all that information will be posted on the MITES website as soon as the roster is finalized..which should be in June sometime.

Am I the only crazy person that got accepted into MITES at MIT and decided not to go? I must feel lonely hehe.

I must correct myself so that no misinterpretations are made. I decided to go to another summer program, but I certainly wanted to be part of MITES also!!! I guess we can't have it all in life.

What program did you opt for?

LEAD Program in Business at Wharton.

Oh, that's great, danidjg. That's one of the programs, alongside with MITES and others, that I want to apply to next year. I hear it's great, and it opens doors into top undergrad b-schools for those interested in that path. I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it, though, besides the alumni base and b-school admissions. I'm sure just the experience of being in that setting exposed to the possibilities that are within your grasp when pursuing business will be worthwhile enough. Have Fun.

When you return from the program, be sure to tell about it here on CC. I'll love to hear about you're experience, and I'm sure others will, too.

P.S. If you don't mind, and I don't want to come off badly, but would you mind telling why you think you got accepted, for example, providing some stats or ec's or story, if any, and what has been the application proccess like, what you hope to gain from attending the program, whether you think your ambitions and profile coincides with the type of applicant the program is looking for.

Please, don't think I'm hounding you or anything. It's just that I'm interested in this program, too, and your the only person I've encountered who's been accepted into it and know about. I'll be grateful for your help.

MITES 2006 in 3 weeks!!!

I got rejected from MITES, but ended up getting accepted at MIT and Stanford.

To all you rejects, there's still hope... lol. I'm going to Stanford btw.

encouraging
