Are we supposed to hear back on the 10th? The website just says mid-April.

Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster.

Anyways, I actually think it’s likely that we’ll get results late tonight/tomorrow.

Last year (2013), they got their results on Wednesday, April 10 (the second Wednesday in April).
In 2011, their letters were dated Wednesday, April 13 (the second Wednesday in April).

I can’t find anything about 2012 or the years past, but I’d put money on it coming out at 12 AM EST tonight or sometime tomorrow since it’ll be the second Wednesday.

Feel free to hate me if I’m wrong

The suspense is killing me. If decisions do come out tonight, I will be right on the computer waiting.

Last night I actually dreamt that I was accepted, and when I woke up it took me a few moments to realize it didn’t actually happen (yet crosses fingers). I can’t even begin to imagine how amazing it would be to spend six weeks with the people I’ve seen on these forums at one of the best unis in the world.

Here’s to hoping that our hard work pays off!

@Southpaw45 Your comment just gave me a heart attack! I had to log in to the school computer and let you know, haha. I tried to find some info about 2012’s release date after your comment, but I can’t find any info on that either… And interesting enough, SSP’s release date was also April 10th last year… Now I’m inclined to think that all MIT affiliated programs release their decisions at the same time. However, since it says mid-April, do you think there’s a possibility that they might release it April 15th this year instead? The suspense is definitely killing me, and I don’t quite know what to think right now.

I’m taking the ACTs this Saturday and my dad insists that I get enough sleep each night so he wouldn’t let me stay up and check… Let’s hope for the best? (My dad’s also really competitive, he says that I have to beat my cousin’s score, which is at 35… Hahahaha we’ll see what’ll happen.)

I might set my alarm for midnight and check the results because I’ve been agonizing over this for a long time already. Really hope to see some of you this summer!

@Nobody426 Mid-april is just kind of a vague way of saying not the first or last week of April imo At least last year I am pretty sure that it said mid-april as well yet we got decisions the 10th (well I didn’t even know they had been released until I lurked on CC).

Don’t try to stress much about standardized tests If it’s your first try you’ll have other chances to improve and anyways, after a certain threshold scores don’t really matter much, best of luck on that exam!

I definitely know how you feel and I was in your same position last year but, honestly, the decision is probably already made and you can’t do anything to change it now , so don’t stress about it much (or atleast try not to!) and spend your time doing what you enjoy instead In the end all you find out about tomorrow is whether you get into MITES or not, and no matter how amazing MITES might be it is definitely not the end of the world if you don’t get in (the MIT alum that interviewed me was rejected from MITES!)

I really hope results come out on Thursday.

@Nobody426 Haha! Sorry for the heart attack. I didn’t have school today but was there anyways for Science Olympiad (state competition in two days!) and I spent a sad amount of time researching MITES decision release times and talking with another MITES applicant about it.

I think it always says mid-April, but I don’t think it’s ever happened where it has actually been the middle of April. I believe SSP says mid-April as well but they released on the 10th last year.

Does anyone have the link for the portal that you log into to check results? I tried following one from last year, but it was down.

Also, whatever the day is for decisions, we should try and include the date on our postings about it, since next year when the applicants are similarly stalking old threads about dates, all they’ll see is the ambiguous April 2014.

I think that MIT will post a link when it’s available.

You’ll probably get an email that says their is an update to your profile. A lot of programs are using similar applications to MITES’.

Good luck to all applicants. Let’s hope that we can meet each other this summer.

This feels like the lottery or something lol. Good luck to everyone.

I wish we could all make it, you guys all seem really nice

@luckystar888 It really is like the lottery. I mean 80 spots and nearly 2000 applicants? Pretty close to a lottery.

Does anyone know when the admissions results will come out? I got into LBW at Wharton and I have to RSVP by this Friday, but LBW is really expensive… I probably don’t stand a chance for MITES but I’m just wondering.

2012 decisions were released on a Wednesday too! One of the posters made an offhand comment about results coming out “tonight, tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday”.

My money is on tonight in about 20 mins, and I would be very surprised if I was wrong. Who knows though. Maybe our apps were so incredible they needed more time to reflect…

@teragram I think you’ll know by this week. To be safe, if we don’t get them tonight, I would email MITES and let them know that you need to confirm your spot at a different program and need to know your result. If that doesn’t work, can you just accept your spot at LBW and cancel if MITES is a possibility? I guess it depends on whether you need to make a deposit or not.

MITES decisions will certainly not becoming out today. Friday is our earliest bet.

Welp, I guess not tonight. Hoping for tomorrow!

Didn’t someone say 12 AM EST? There’s still 20 more minutes if it does happen.

It is 12:41 in Boston @Existentialized.
