wait wait aren't New York and Boston good cities?

I like houston, boston and new york. I really truly do. So there!

oh my gosh kodiak that's like the happiest delima ever. i want that delima!!! i wish i have!!

well anyway, as someone already mentioned i dont think you can ever go wrong with either school. Yet as you said money isnt a concern in your family, just go for one that struck your heart.

I agree! Go where your heart leads you! My favorite cities to live in don't happen to have good universities. What is important is to bloom where you are planted. Be happy and good luck!

The atmosphere at MIT is completely different. At MIT you will be surrounded by students who are more or less like you, all of them passionate about what they do, hard working. From what I gather MIT has a great collaborative atmosphere which is superb.

MIT is the best for Engineering, whatever opportunities you get at Rice, you are bound to get similar opportunities at MIT, maybe better. IMO if you are majoring in BME choose Rice (Better GPA for Medical school, Baylor nearby), for all other Engineering Majors I would probably go to MIT.

What you should look at are,
Rice:
Small, more personal attention, $$$, warm weather, diverse student body (major wise), Rice has a lot of instate students

MIT:
Bigger Schooldecision., King of Engineering, no $$$ (and living expenses will also probably be higher), nearly all students majoring in Engineering or Economics, MANY research opportunities, diverse student body (geographically)

I would visit both the Campuses before making any decision.

Like many have pointed out, you can't go wrong with any choice, so make the best of the options God has given you

Good Luck

Kodiak, you must be a genius, lol. Congrats for the two acceptances and those scholarships.
