Great minds,
I know this has been asked before a couple of times, and most of those times, it seems to be hypothetical. Right now, I'm in the process of choosing between these two great institutions and I have heard a number of times that it's not really possible to go wrong. Current students, are there any reasons you might have chosen Yale over MIT? And if there are people in the past that have chosen MIT over Yale, do you have any regrets?
I would also appreciate inputs on the ease of moving into an engineering career upon graduation, and the any other relevant input worthy of consideration.

I think it's worth mentioning that Yale is giving me a fabulous finaid package that I dont see MIT matching up to. I love MIT, but finances are also very important for me.

I love you all.

you should pick the one that you like the most :-D
yale is known for it's amazing school spirit, whereas mit has sort of anti-school spirit. and people at yale seem happier.

if you're going to go into an engineering career, then mit probably has a bigger "name recognition" factor, but honestly i don't think that matters as much as people think, especially several years after you graduate.

"whereas mit has sort of anti-school spirit" ...??

If you are doing engineering I am going to go ahead and recommend MIT--they are the best at what they do.

I would have potentially liked the people in general at Yale better, however, I am in a fraternity and they are the best people to live with that I could have hoped for.

Also, Yale engineering probably won't be as hard. You'll have less work. But when looking for software jobs, I am very happy that MIT is on my resume.
