MIT Pranks Caltech

Atop Millikan library (a 9-10 story building visible from essentially all of campus) bright Christmas lights spell "MIT".

Well done : )

P.S. Some Calltech students have projected the mirror image of "Chang" below "MIT". The joke is that Tim Chang is the director of institute housing. Tim's picture appears below the sign.

This is the time of year when people want to travel from Cambridge to Pasadena. :)

haha!! Finally "revenge" for pre-frosh weekend?

The whole pranking spirit is so great :D

haha sweet. tho i heard some even tried to DDOS websites last pre-frosh weekend... :P But yea the friendly rivalry is nice.

It turned out that this particular event was due to some Lloydies, as was pointed out to me. So MIT hasn't gotten us back yet -- except for those DDOS attacks, which are a little below the talents of our comrades in the east.

So I presume the revenge is still in the making.

Does Caltech have anything brewing up in their minds for MIT again? :P

Like they'll put THAT on an internet forum :p

Very nice. Has it been replaced by the Lloyd Christmas "tree" yet?

The MIT sign (originally a counter-prank on a prank by some members of Blacker) was only up for a couple days until the counter-prank itself was counter-pranked. The tree went up December 2nd or 3rd.

Ooh, I see. :) I've got to come by and see it one of these years.

Sleep more! You'll have plenty of time for sleep deprivation in college. ;-)

Ideally, I would go to sleep around 3 a.m. and get up around noon.

Hey look, my post count is an anagram of yours!

The MIT was replaced by the letters "TTB" although some believed it to say Pi-B. After asking several Moles, I learned that TTB stands for "Take That Buddy" (Although, Buddy isn't the exact word they said) which they apparently write at the end of a proof instead of QED.

The tree went up on Dec 2nd in record time, finishing at about 11:30. The tree should currently be in its full glory at night.

haha Caltech writes TTB at the end of a proof? that's sooo funny!

Only a few of us. Apparently many people did not know what "TTB" meant when it was put up. :(

dLo helped set up the tree. It looks nice.
