MIT rec letters??

Ok...So I finised my MIT app ages ago, and they've processed my school transcript, interview, etc. My teachers also sent out my teacher apps a while ago, but I just checked my app tracking they haven't been processed yet. I'm a little worried because today's MIT's extended deadline and I have no way of contacting my teachers over the break.

If the recs somehow got lost in the mail, should I ask my teachers to re-send them when school starts? Or should I call the MIT office first?

Then again...I could just wait it out cause there's probably nothing I can do now. :'(

Thanks

As long as it is postmarked on or before that day, you are fine. It may take longer for them to process them since they are on break now.

Give it a couple of weeks, literally. If you look on MIT's website, they make it clear that they will allow things to be re-sent and I believe they indicate that they will even reach out to you if everything's not in. In any case, don't bother the swamped office now, wait til @ Jan. 20 and if everything isn't reflected on your account by then, contact the office.

Keep in mind that there actual people on staff, not robots. They have to sort out the thousands of papers they get and manually enter it into the system. So they manually have to confirm that they've gotten your stuff, which should take a while.
