If anyone has any ideas of what I can do to give my application a boost or something like that, feel free to let me know.

Hmm…On first look, you seem to be too “generic” (sorry, just the truth, not trying to offend you), albeit the lower SAT score and the good class rank. I think you should try to make yourself stand out somehow, either through your essays or through (careful) revisions of your EC section to show you have true passion for what you do. This fact is undeniable, the more you stand out, the higher your chances at admissions.

P.S. I’m applying to MIT too!!, as an international applicant though so we won’t be competing against each other

Feel free to chance me,

Thread is called “Chance a Chinese International Applicant” and should be on the first page of this forum.

You’d get in if you can convince the admission officers that you truly love math + science. From what you posted so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case (you only took one math/science AP course). Are you sure you want to go to MIT?

Hey I am applying to MIT too
I agree with Pianodude
Its MIT …you never know what they are looking for
anyways best of luck
hey you can chance me too

Given your ACT composite, SATII scores, and class rank, I think you have a very realistic chance for admission in the RD round. Good luck and, don’t worry, you will be getting accepted to a very selective school-- no matter what happens.

That’s sort of what I thought, Pianodude. Everyone applying there has the scores, obviously, and that’s kind of what I was banking on. The problem now, though, is that I don’t think I can revise my application anymore because I’ve already submitted it for EA.

And iceui2, I didn’t really have the opportunity to take more math & science AP classes than I already have. The only ones I didn’t take were physics, stats, and calc AB, but I took BC instead. This is the first year I’ve had the opportunity to take an AP math class and last year it was either chemistry or biology for an AP science. How else could I show them that I love math and science?

Sorry I had to post. This is crazy. Like your stats are almost exactly the same as mine
-low writing score, high everything else, white + from midwest
(including the higher sat math score and the lower act math score)[time trouble on act yuck]

I did take some more math/science courses though + interned at hospital
(but did not play baseball)

Sorry just too crazy!

I think you have a shot, honestly you’re qualified it is just about how your essays are/interview/recs/ and then some good old fashioned luck
