MIT Rescind?

I haven't gotten into MIT, but I'd say I have a fairly good chance.
I've had 2 B's and 33 A's out of the 35 units of classes I've taken so far.
But it looks like my grades for this semester may be as low 2 A's, 3 B's, and 1 C
If I get in, will I get rescinded for this?

No. 10 char.

no, don't ever post such a topic again.

boy, you're one confident applicant!

LOL if I were you, I'd be more worried about getting in first.

I hope you're a legacy or a URM or else you are a little arrogant there.

^you know he said "if" not something like "when," right? If you do get in, you won't get rescinded.

I admire your confidence/innocence :P

Twiz, I wouldn't be that confident. 2340 SAT here, top 1% of class, 13 AP classes (10 5s and 3 4s), good committment to extracurriculars, expansive volunteer work. And I didnt get in. Wasn't that surprised either, considering I'm a white male. If you are a white or Asian male, you're gonna need a kick ass app and a little luck to get in, considering they accepted 5-7% of white/Asian males last year.

If you get a C and are admitted, you will probably get a letter asking you to explain the circumstances under which it was earned.

A friend got a C second semester senior year and is still here... if you get in and you do get a C, sent a letter to them. but if you are deferred or doing regular, getting a C in the first semester is going to be pretty detrimental to your chances.

wow
this place is judgmental
perhaps we have different definitions of "pretty good chance"
but no need to call people arrogant
based on one sentence

This implies that it helps to be a legacy. Earlier this year I asked if being a legacy helped, and I was told no. So I ask again, does having legacy help getting into MIT? And if so, how much?

ouch, people are mean...

No effward. MIT legacy supposedly has no weight on admissions.

what does MIT consider as an URM?

Under-Represented Minority.

Women

10char

I'm probably the person rainy's talking about.

I got a C in AP physics second semester senior year after getting in. I didn't get a letter asking for an explanation and I didn't send one in either. (Note that I got all As in all my other classes and double 5s on the AP Physics test so I wasn't really slacking...too much)

Women aren't the only URM's are they?

I mean there are African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Gays aren't there?
